Re: Shaking like a leaf, oh no have I got Parkinson's? Home to Forest 12:30 Sun 6th May 2018

Driving to the game today, I was wondering whether we'd get one of those one in a thousand games, the potential of which keeps us going to watch, much to the disbelief/confusion of those that don't follow football. As ever, I was hopeful that this would be 'the one'. I was not disappointed. Absolute...

Re: This weeks RIP's........

RIP John Noakes. I grew up watching him on Blue Peter and took a lot of his 'stunts' as pretty run of the mill. However, I watched a clip of him climbing Nelson's column recently and hadn't appreciated how terrifying dangerous that was. No 'Health and Safety' back then. If you have 10 mins, look it ...

Re: West Ham are complete failures! Let's all laugh at 'em!

It seems that areas of Upton Park always had affiliations together and "issues" with other areas. Tickets at the new ground (the one provided to them free, by the tax payer) have mixed those together PLUS a lot of casual fans coming in. That may work if they're winning but when losing they're turni...

Re: Euro Championships 2016

I genuinely feel sorry for any player who has to leave the field through injury, thus missing out on what might be a chance for glory. In Ronaldo's case, I'm prepared to make an exception.

Re: Euro Championships 2016

Russia were awful. Yes, we made lots of chances, but it's goals that count. How Sterling stayed on for so long is a mystery to me. He offers nothing, other than running the ball into an area then losing it. He should be dropped. End of. Also, Hart's distribution was very very suspect. Other than tha...

Re: The "I just don't get it thread".

Foreigners assigning a gender to a word. When something new like the internet came along, who decides whether it should be Le internet or La internet? The Academie Francaise is who! I want that job. Also, for reasons I've never quite understood, whilst "internet" is masculine (obviously) you hardly...

Re: Today I'm happy about......

Having been informed a few years ago that my wife's car was fitted with a timing chain rather than a timing belt, I thought "Happy days! Virtually no maintenance costs and no chance of the belt snapping" (something that had happened to me twice before on 2 other cars and cost me a fortune). Anyway, ...

Re: Today I'm happy about......

Had a great afternoon today as our family were treated as guests of honours at Chorley FC's game against Solihull. The game was dedicated to the memory of my Dad, an ex-player, who passed away recently. They took time to research Dad's successful 11 years at the club in the late 50s/early 60s and pr...
