Re: The athletics/running thread

Haven’t you got a marathon planned?! Best get training! Can't even get a Parkrun out of him at the moment ;) Man flu is a serious medical issue you know, just ask BP! Don’t you take the *cough* piss *cough* out of me! Let’s see which of us is on the start line at HH Parkrun a week on Saturday! 😉 If...

Re: The athletics/running thread

Remember when Roger Bannister broke the 4-minute mile way back when? Whilst it was run on a normal track he did have pacemakers (the only one of which I recall was Chris Chataway) and was organised as a world record attempt - no one complained then; in fact he was lauded throughout the world of ath...

Re: What are you watching tonight?

Traumatised by the ending of Sanditon (which I had been loving) tonight. Tango, have you been watching it? Ha, no, G.G.but my wife is complaining bitterly at no happy ending. Jane Austen never finished it so I didn't even read the part finished version. Much as I like all her other novels which I k...

Re: The athletics/running thread

Kipchoge... wow. 68 seconds per 400m 105 times. 14:10 for 5k 8 and a half times. Mind boggling stuff. I don't like the concept, would rather see it done within allowable record parameters in a race, but nothing but respect for Kipchoge. He's had an amazing career, won the world 5000m title in 2003 ...

Re: General Chit Chat

Babysitting for a friend tonight. Just spent a good half hour with her kid playing a game where you pull a plastic cows tail up to see if it does a moo, poo or wee. Rock and roll Friday night here! Where can I buy one? Sounds way more entertaining than watching this England game! 🙄 BP’s Christmas p...

Re: Diving Arsenal Players - The Least Shocking Admission Ever

Good to see Holding back again last night with a goal and the captains armband for a bit no less. He was playing really well for us before he was injured and he should easily now command a place every week owing to the fact his ‘competition’ is so crap that there were calls from fans for a statue o...

Oh, and Xhakas been given the armband... Apparently he got a set of house keys before his big brother did so clearly captain material... Sadly that means we will have to play him every week.

Do you not even win that anymore? You and Spurs should've clubbed together for a shared trophy cabinet somewhere around Seven Sisters.
Hey, hey, hey! Don’t lump us in with spurs Pru! :whack: Our cabinet is far fuller then theirs is! We do at least have past glories to live on!

Re: Diving Arsenal Players - The Least Shocking Admission Ever

Should have been clauses dependent on Arsenal winning the Emirates Cup. Think we sold all our additional clauses, on the cheap, some time ago. Delighted for Holding though, watched the game on Tues and had a little cheer when he scored. Always seemed to have a v mature head on his shoulders. You'd ...

Loving this. Arsenal are not setting the world alight at the moment but ALWAYS funny to see United struggle.
