Re: The athletics/running thread

Plodded round 4 miles tonight. Decided if I’m going to be slow then I’ll try and up the mileage slowly instead. Try ultra running. Them buggers walk most of it! Or a triathlon where I can just cheat and get on my bike when I get knackered? Yeah......that's not how triathlons work though. Sorry

Re: The athletics/running thread

Yeah it's ridiculous. Something pinged in my leg last time it was this hot about 4 weeks ago and still isn't fixed. Going stir crazy again. I really fancy a swim and Boris has just said no to pools for ages yet! Still, saving a shed load with the kids swimming lessons and swim club fees (if ...

Re: Today I'm happy about......

Youngest child (reception age) went back to school today. He had a good time, it wasn’t too weird for him (though he appeared to have watched a lot of tv which he could have done at home...) and his elder brother and sister were quite happy to see the back of him for a bit too! I did it. Got out. Hated every minute of it and it was slow and short. Bit depressed now. Don’t want to go again!
Why depressed? It's not the first time you've been considered slow and short, surely?

Re: We'll meet you outside

Met plenty off here, referred to by BP's daughter as his 'football boyfriend'. Damn straight, you were! We’ll always have Liverpool and our time in that shrine of a club! Knew one or two from Bolton Banter and now a few more from here. #wankerstoaman Strangest one was being approached by GtE at Bol...

A hot & humid 5k last night. Hard work, but definitely getting easier.

Rain forecast for the next couple of days. Hmmm! ☔️

At the moment my first race, that isn't postponed or cancelled, is Swim Serpentine in September...……… Just ticking over. Well done Bruce on your 60km and You LE on your 46 consecut...

Re: General Chit Chat

Well I found out this morning that a uni pal of mine passed away in the early hours. I hadn't seen her for a year or so but we were good mates in a past life. She was in her 40's. Had spoken to her on the phone last in January. But she'd texted me a week or two back to say she had a bit of cough - ...

Right - genuine problem - I don't know if that's a curry based joke or Enfield inside knowledge?
The former. Although my mate who watches Enfield Town avidly says he's a proper talent, just needs the right stage.
