Re: Not exactly a Derby. Away to The Rams, Sat 16th March 3-0'clock.

21 points to play for. Best part of a fortnight to get out first team striker and keeper back Time on the training pitch Play off finals, whilst not ideal, is still progression on last season. We always, always finish strong towards the end of the season I'm not giving up on automatic yet. Lots of t...

Re: Ox on the box, c*cks on the blocks? Oxford (H) Tue 12 Mar, 8pm

That was awesome. Ogbeta and Collins goals were beautiful in their construction. Won't see many better team goals anywhere. We so love teams who try to play football against us. They don't stand a chance. Absolutely this. Just back from the game. Sublime performance. Shame Jerome didn't score but h...

Tunnocks never had jam. It has always been a jamless, and therefore, joyless affair!

Lyons IIRC are jam based!

Aaaaaah! Good man. I definitely remember Lyons. I guess Tunnock's is my Mandela moment.

Re: General Chit Chat

Lees is the major brand that do one with jam in it. As you can imagine, in these parts I'm required to stock the different versions :) That's put my mind at rest somewhat, the thought they'd been substituted for "own brand" was shattering my middle-class aspirations! :D And yes, Boris, Walnut whips...

Re: What are you reading tonight?

Reading CHINA by Edward Rutherford I've read a few of his books before. They're usually about cities (London, Dublin, New York) and tell their origin stories from little communes to the full blown Metropoli they are today. They follow the fortunes of groups of families through the centuries, married...

Cautiously optimistic on this one. We're in great form and have a strength in depth better than last year. Time to shake the hoodoo of Wigan and look up, not down.

Re: Car Parking

Just reading some of the press relating to the Pink concert and complaints from some folks who were still stuck on the car park three hours after the gig... TBF, last time I went to a gig at OT, it took a couple of hours to break free...but yeah, Pink fans. Welcome to our world... Also complaints a...

Re: New Sky EFL deal

End of the Saturday 3pm? Not this time. It'll soon potentially become expensive to watch the games. Be cheaper to just have a season ticket tbh. Not with the travel from London (me) or South Wales (DJB)... But maybe one day. The Good Lady Wife is pondering the prospect of moving back north when ret...

Re: General Chit Chat

All smart meters have the facility to be switched to prepayment. The problem is they didn't tell anyone. Legislation is currently going through to ban the practice. You're not obliged to switch TD and my advice would be not to.

Re: The Politics Thread

Don't know if it's relevant for this thread but as we're talking about USA and Ireland maybe it is. I was in Ireland last fortnight visiting friends in Donegal and relatives in Tipperary (yes, it is.) I was told before I went about a story of the Choctaw Nation (native american tribe) The Choctaw ha...

Re: General Chit Chat

Yep, they've gone up. Most are now £12-£13. with so called premium brands around £15. As a retailer I hate them. Thousands of pounds tied up in them and they carry a margin of around 3-4% for most. If you must damage your internals then at least vape as I can at least earn a decent wedge out of it ...

Re: General Chit Chat

Seen today on BBC News: The average price of a packet of cigarettes today is £14-39. Way back when we were kids. My dad only ever bought 10 Woodbines; they were One shilling and fourpence halfpenny. I haven't smoked for the best part of 15 years (cost played a big part in packing in) but I ...

Apropos of not much, but City goal machine Haarland scores five. Wonder if he fancies a move?
I'd have him on loan for the rest of the season......provided City paid us enough to take on another emerging talent.......

Re: Tonight's Football

Back from The Emirates after a very painful 96 minutes of football. Thankfully the 97th minute made up for the previous 96! Buzzing now. I love football! (The pulled pork roll I had on the way back to the station was pretty darn awesome too!) Football's fickle face. Three games ago we were looking ...

Just watched Alec Yee win the Trithalon in Abu Dabai. What a brilliant athlete he is. First we had the Brownlee brothers, then Alistair on his own, now Yee. Class acts all.
