I read in the paper that Bolton were due to stay in a hotel. At effing Mansfield?? It's not far away from being a local derby, get there in, what, two hours at most?? Next time Bolton plead poverty... “We incur costs for the hotel, travel all the way down here and it’s called off. It isn’t acceptabl...

I've done most of the original 92 grounds - long before teams moved to identikit Lego stadiums built with IKEA leftovers. For the life of me I can't remember going to Brunton Park, I'm sure I have but there's no recollection there. I've never been since they built the lop-sided stand, if that helps....

Very well done to my 2nd team, Chorley, on coming back from 2-0 down to put Wiggin art ert th'eff aaay cup 3-2. And from what I saw of it - thoroughly deserved. Amazing, one point all bloody season (although, to be fair, not much of a season!) in the 6th tier and they stuffed Wigan at their place, ...

Do you remember the days when the FA cup really was magical and you didn't need the Beeb to keep telling you it was? Even 1st round ties were eagerly anticipated as you'd be looking to see if it gave you a real chance to progress and be one round nearer to landing a plum tie. Nowadays, even with cr...

Re: What would the gate have been for tomorrow night - normally?
For those of us who were there :? , that lowest league crowd was actually in the 3rd division. 35 years ago this Thursday. It was a combination of miserable weather + bonfire night + poor form. We went down to the bottom tier at the end of the following season. Average crowds around that time were ...

What would the gate have been for tomorrow night - normally?
If there was no such thing as coronavirus, and it was a normal season with season tickets, away fans, goalkeepers that could reach the ball etc, what would Bolton's average gate be considering their league position? Back in the Burnden 4th division days (for younger viewers, that's the fourth divisi...

I started off with text commentary on Bolton News........and then watched two six nations rugby matches on TV when their third goal went in. Enough's enough.... . Could have been worse, our (so-called) PM could have been on the telly this evening telling us we are going into lockdown again for anot...

Re: FA Cup First Round Draw
:D She defo said Skem, I checked the replay on Whodrawed.com. I thought that that fat lad who used to play for Norwich said "50", which was Skem's ball too. Apparently he said"15", which was Crewe. Time to get a bingo caller to do the job, "Number of people who like Tranmere Rovers outside of the W...

Re: SAVE BURY
It beggars belief that any Bury fan would want to chip in to pay Dale off. The phoenix club is where it's at now and they'll have to hope in time that they can work their way up the divisions and buy Gigg Lane back from whoever has it then. I do like the fact that after years of their snide Horwich...

I’ve come across similar websites when researching for stories. I will have a look when I’m in work tomorrow, if I remember Thanks - I've found it! When Wanderers beat Brentford to win Division 3 in 1973, somebody took along a cinecam. . -veTEqlzu2k Thanks, I would have been there; probably sat with grandad in the Burnden Stand. Even though Granada showed local games, very few Bolton games (if any?) were covered around that time, so a lot of f...

If that discombobulating collection of wordage is a genuine expression of the Bury steering committee, and if I was a Bury supporter, I would consider seriously the option of packing my bags and leaving the ship before the rats block the gangways. To any Bury fan who might be reading this: I have n...

I've thought about "what to do next?" and I reckon I'd start following Gibraltar's international games. Why ffs?? Well, they get to play regular international games with some huge teams in meaningful competition, with their current stadium hopefully being rebuilt into a purpose-built football stadiu...

It's a good job Brentford and Forest are mid-table and their rersults don't affect those around them. The EFL won't call a game off if they don't have to - and as the situation is so (a) serious (b) avoidable and (c) not of their own making Bolton will be hit very hard - a massive points deduction n...

Re: So when will the bubble burst?
I would suspect that, the majority of Championship clubs are well in debt because of their pursuance of the promise land. I always said should one club go under many would follow. Sky seem to be one of the reasons why clubs survive, should Sky ever become troubled financially we could say majority ...
