Re: What are you watching tonight?
Fair dos. Another one on there is All is Lost. Really liked that. Pretty bold move making a full length feature with no dialogue, or music come to think? But I think it pays off. That's definitely on the list. Probably mentioned on here before that I love films at sea and this is right up my street...

Re: What are you watching tonight?
I said a 'little' overrated, and I did say it was excellent but it's being billed as one of the greatest films ever which is quite the tag to have, so it's hard not to go into it with very high expectations.

Re: What are you watching tonight?
I've read that the judges won't even watch it. Apparently the race for Best Picture is between 12 Years and Gravity. Out of the two, I enjoyed Gravity more due to the amazing 3D effects, but I'm not sure that makes it good enough for Best Picture. My personal choice is Her. Best Actor is apparently ...

Re: What are you watching tonight?
Olympus Has Fallen isn't that bad. Hilarious that that and White House Down have fallen within 6 months of each other. Watched a few likely Oscar nominated films recently. First was 12 Years a Slave. Excellent film. if a little overrated. Definitely deserves another watch and I think on second viewi...

Re: What are you watching tonight?
It doesn't get 'classic' until around the season 3 mark. It gets spectacular season 4 onwards. Just a warning if you're looking for a massive cliff hanger at the end of season 1. It was the same year as the writers strike so the season ended early and didn't really finish. It doesn't affect the flow...

Re: What are you watching tonight?
Lilyhammer on Netflix. Excellent. So much so, I'm on day two and series 2 already. now you've said that - might actually give that a go - have looked at it and decided not to in the past... that's when I've got through the 8 series of 24 - not having seen any of it first time round I am at episode ...

Re: What are you watching tonight?
I enjoyed The Great Gatsby but was a little disappointed with it. Although the scene when Gatsby is introduced for the first time might be the best/cheesiest scene of the year. Best for me has to be Captain Phillips. Tom Hanks' performance alone is the best single performance for me of the last few ...

Re: Has anyone here got any claims to fame?'
Wouldn't say 'fame' but my sister in law's uncle is premiership referee Lee Mason and on the other side of the family her cousin is Andrew Kellet.

Re: What are you watching tonight?
So? Product placements definitely don't make a bad film, and I for one very rarely notice them because its not something that I'm concerned with when watching a film.

Re: What are you watching tonight?
Watching the fischer version of Girl with th dragon tattoo. Think I've seen about 12 product placements in the first half hour as bruce said - watch the real one! I've seen both and thought they were both excellent, with the remake being much better than I thought it would be. It seems to get the t...

Re: What are you watching tonight?
I've been using the DNS trick for a while to watch the American Netflix but for the last two months or so it's not been working. Which site have you got it off?
Must say, UK Netflix has improved a great deal since I last used it. Could happily leave it for now.

Re: Thank you forum folk and grammar gophers alike
People who do accountancy struggle with their/there/they're?! There may be too many "there"s for my liking in a single sentence in that post - but unless I am having a monstrous brainfart, they all look OK to me! I meant because Dan said that he was the only one in his class of Accountancy that got...

Re: What are you watching tonight?
Gravity. Slightly mis-sold as 90 mins of Sandra Bullock floating in space. Instead it's a visual feast, an amazing technical achievement and occasionally bloody nerve-shredding. Misses classic status with some clunky, shoe-horned emotional stuff. But this is the director who did Children of Men, so...

Always remember him from Ordinary Boys doing something similar when they started reading from his celebrity slag bird's autobiography. Anyway, Guardian have written on this today - http://www.theguardian.com/tv-and-radio/2013/nov/05/huey-morgan-never-mind-the-buzzcocks-walk-off" onclick="window.ope...
