Re: The athletics/running thread

How did you get on Beefy? Missed you at the finish. It went pretty horrifically. Finished in like 2.35 which was slower than even my worst training run. Thinking of doing the Manchester half in a few weeks. Finished though... Got one under your belt though. Good luck with Manchester. He made it ont...

Re: What are you reading tonight?

Currently reading Miles Davis's autobiography which genuinely contains the sentence 'Shit, that fish was a motherfucker'. It's brilliant.

Re: Muslims, racists, individuals and attitudes.

The creator of the burkini has said that a significant number of them have been sold to nuns, jewish women, anyone who just wants to protect themselves from the sun etc. Well either they're lying or you are cos Pru said they are only worn by brown people. Twice. No, he was saying that the ban only ...

Re: What are you watching tonight?

There's a new intrrnet sensation that the kidz are doing - the lady ones - renaming their hoo-hahs after the last film they watched... I pointed this out to the missus with the reminder that the last film she watched was the film of the Bryson book - a walk in the woods... I suppose you could still...

Re: The Politics Thread

Exactly, if you're going to try and cynically make political capital (like what all the politicians do) by attempting to appear as though you're different from all of the other politicians its important that you don't get caught out to be a fraud and then try and spin it (like what all the other pol...

Yeah, but that's not really relevant. The point is Blair was better able to convince people that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction than Jeremy Corbyn was at convincing people that a train was full.

Re: The athletics/running thread

Cheers, almost 9 months in so it definitely feels like bad habits have been replaced with good ones now so reckon I can keep it off. I dunno - I cracked over the weekend (admittedly not 9 months in) drank like a fish, ate like a hog and smoked like a chimney... The scales will be "tentative" at the...

Re: The athletics/running thread

Since starting all this gym/parkrun malarkey again I've shed about five kilos - down to 90.5kg. Also, this weekend I didn't drink, ate no junk food and smoked far less than I usually do. Felt all the better for it. Hopefully keep it going and get to the early/mid eighties. Had myself down to 75kg o...

Re: Plan B

I'm not really sure how much you can look into the tactics at this point because I still think we're a vulnerable team that is playing well short of our potential. The players still aren't showing much confidence and until they do, we aren't going to get the best out of them which is why I'm so ple...

Re: Plan B

Trotters already obvious lack of mobility is made even more apparent when playing on the left of that diamond. I guess Pratley might have been there ahead of him if fit. Hopefully we get a couple more wide players in before the transfer window closes.
