Commentary gone off now. I'm picturing Burden Paddock sneaking off under the stand with a pair of wire snips and a cheeky grin. 😂 I don’t know which will make me smash the laptop first, our performance, or listening to that prick wank himself daft! We are utterly fecking abysmal all over the park, ...

Re: The athletics/running thread

Some years ago Thebish shared an excellent slow cooker recipe for vegetarian chili bean soup with me; a recipe which I still use to this day. In fact, only this week I decided to knock-up a batch after my younger brother gave me a bag full of his homegrown scotch bonnet chilis. Oh my! Yesterday eve...

Re: The athletics/running thread

I'm picturing you galloping musically through the hills of Sussex like Julie Andrews. If you’d been nearer the back at Clair park run you’d have been treated to the distant warblings of “the hills are alive...” Serves you right for being so fast and missing out on that musical feast. He’ll have hea...

Re: The athletics/running thread

You motivated me Bruce. Now the kids are back at school this week I’ve no good excuse either so dusted off my running shorts that have been languishing in a drawer for the last month, grabbed my trainers and the dog and set off for a very slow, unfit, humid few miles. Hated every minute of it! Befo...

Re: Tonight's Football

Meh. We only got beaten 3-0 by Man City... Therefore Arsenal better then Liverpool?! 🤔 😉 By that logic, Southampton must be better than Arsenal. 😉 Only, Arsenal never have their keeper get lobbed from the halfway line. Oh, hang on.... :D Thanks for reminding me of the most traumatic evening of my t...

Ran my fastest (or least slow ;) ) 5K sine Dec 2018 this morning, which was nice.
Nice one!

Not looking forward to tonight's run out on the parkrun course. It's gonna hurt!

Re: The athletics/running thread

I staggered out for a slow 3 miler yesterday with a friend. I hate running in this weather! Don’t understand why certain people won’t run in the rain. :conf: I think I prefer it. Too hot down south for anymore exercise this week! ☀️ Don’t you bloody start! :Jedi: I mentioned no names. If you’ve got...

Re: General Chit Chat

No Virologist, me, but I'm far from convinced that we've reached stage three. Also, I remain fecking appalled by the laissez faire attitude being exhibited by so many in relation to social distancing. By way of 'new normal', by the way, I've just had my first ever GP appointment to be held over Sky...

2-3 years before I'll consider a holiday abroad again, BWFCi sums up the restricted, unless you just like pool lounging and the hotel bar service, with restrictions to a tee.

Start really worrying GG if someone suggests little Lever caravan park :D

Re: General Chit Chat

I guess if you have friends like BR does then its ok. But no way would I fancy staying in any hotel anywhere now. A cottage sounds a good bet to me. Oh, absolutely. If this option wasn't / proves not to be available, coupled with the fact that this year's Green Man has been cancelled, then it's Kes...

Take every opportunity I can to hate the red bastards of course, but feck me the lad Rashford is a good kid, isn't he? Aye. It's bloody annoying! I see there’s been a u turn on it which is great. Last summer our church did some regular hot meals in the church building for some kids earmarked by tea...

Re: The athletics/running thread

Just as I was getting my running mojo back, I have been laid low by an insect bite of all things. The ‘wound’ has become infected and I now appear to have a cankle and club foot! Hopefully, the antibiotics prescribed start to kick in and I can get back to it next week. A Pound to a pinch of shit sa...

Re: General Chit Chat

The Guide dogs association have labradors up for adoption who have been house trained but just failed to meet the very high standards to be a sight dog. I'm sure they'll have some young dogs that would get along great with Paddy. Might be worth rehoming your cat though, just to be on the safe side ...

Re: Tonight's Football

Arsenal played a friendly against Charlton today. They put the highlights up on social media. Its so weird watching them play in an empty stadium - ignoring the tired old jokes you all make about the Emirates noise levels  the quietness and the empty seats was really weird. I wonder how long ...
