Re: TW Members. Introspection on an Epic scale.

Hi. I know it’s been quite some time since I’ve been on, I thought I would update you on Freddie. Three years ago today, he rang the end of treatment bell. He’s gone from strength to strength with regards his health. His eating probably isn’t where we’d like it to be, but he’s been signed off by the...

Re: TW Members. Introspection on an Epic scale.

Right, a quick update. Massive thank you to Bill Pithers for his generous donation (I will, I can wear a cycling cap and we do forgive you). As you can see, we're on holiday, our first since Freddie's transplant. Without Anthony Nolan he wouldn't be stood there triumphantly holding his chocolate bar...

Re: TW Members. Introspection on an Epic scale.

Glad to hear. Hope he'll get over the trauma and catch up soon . Irrespective, fcuk it, you've still got your boy and I'm delighted for you. Exactly. We can deal with everything else, he's still here. Other kids with come into contact with/have know haven't been as fortunate. Thanks for the donatio...

Re: TW Members. Introspection on an Epic scale.

He's still doing well. Although his development seems to be hindered somewhat. He's not eating as other kids are. He won't eat at nursery, so goes pretty much all day without food and then wolfs down his tea. His speech isn't that of an almost 3 year old, he can only say single words, no sentences....

Re: TW Members. Introspection on an Epic scale.

We've been very fortunate things, so far, have turned out well. A little girl that had the same condition as Freddie, had a transplant the month after him, passed away 2 weeks ago in her sleep. This little girl https://www.facebook.com/Afightagainstneuroblastoma/" onclick="window.open(this.href);ret...

Re: TW Members. Introspection on an Epic scale.

Day 365......1 year......Happy first Re-Birthday! Exactly one year ago today, Freddie was having a life saving bone marrow transplant. So far, everything is going well. We've had some set backs (mild Graft v Host Disease, coughs, colds) but other than that he's fine.....and he's still here. With out...

Re: TW Members. Introspection on an Epic scale.

Thanks.

7:38 start time. Had just passed Pyford drinks stop and hit it. Had about hour and half wait before we could carry on. Later starters diverted so didn't do full ride.

Well, I did it. Just shy of 100 miles, has to walk a little bit due to an accident that required an air ambulance.

Re: TW Members. Introspection on an Epic scale.

Good stuff AG. Is that your club that meets at the bus stop opposite the Ainsworth Arms on a Saturday morning? Great to hear that Freddie is doing so well! Yes, that's us. Drove past you all this morning and was going to stop, but thought it might be a bit odd asking 'Hi which one of you is AG? I'm...

Re: The Road Cycling Thread

Nice blog AG. Interesting about the fears of clipping someone's back wheel - I came off in that way a couple of weeks ago and it wasn't pretty! Did the ronde van Calderdale at the weekend which was fun but brutal. 6hrs in the saddle, 3000m of climbing and 13 cobbled climbs. Certainly gave my injuri...

He's doing well, better than expected. Makes you realize how lucky you are when other kids who had their transplants around the same time have passed away or are still in intensive care. The training for Ride London is going ok. I'm doing a blog about it http://www.ukcyclechat.co.uk/a-first-ride-out...

Re: The Road Cycling Thread

How's the riding going AG? Got my confirmed place for London in the ballot yesterday. I wasn't holding out too much hope in doing it this year and only entered the ballot on the last day. I've taken charity places before but wasn't planning on this time as it can be a lot of extra work trying to ra...
