Since when do you need to be an Olympic sprinter to be able to defend in this league? John Terry can barely move but he's still pretty decent don't you think? Yes, speed helps, but intelligence is just as important. You don't need to be flat out if you defend smartly and position yourself correctly....

Even though we've now signed Per Mertesacker, we're still expected to put in a final, take it or leave it bid for Gary Cahill tonight or tomorrow morning. If it's not accepted, we will apparently turn our attention to Chelsea's Brazilian CB, Alex.
