Re: Official Gary Cahill transfer thread
Exactly!! If Gary does leave in 12 months time you can bet some idiots will be having a go at Owen and Phil and saying its 15/17 million pound down the dream when such figures did not exist, and weren't even offered in the first place. It certainly won't be 17 million down the drain though possibly...

Re: Official Gary Cahill transfer thread
Talk about falling at the first hurdle. Talking to players agents, never makes it into the press honest. Fook me. "'Ello meester Agent, zis is Mr D Duck, I vas jus vondering, if you could tell me ow much Bolton vant for Gary Cahill and vat terms and conditions he might be after..." "Just hold the l...

Re: Official Gary Cahill transfer thread
It was neither, it was a Daily Mirror reporter who does a lot of Arsenal related stories. His name has already been posted on this thread Yes obviously but either Arsenal or Bolton must have given the 'scoop' to John Cross or Alan Nixon (both at Mirror but not sure who put it out first). My view is...

Re: Official Gary Cahill transfer thread
First to note is that this bid came to the public domain only because John Cross a mirror journo who covers Arsenal tweeted it having been fed it from you guess Arsenal! Funny that, why would Arsenal possibly want that info out in public? Trying to unsettle a player? Standard dirty tactics from A W...

Re:♥ Official Gary Cahill transfer thread
You make a great point about market value, it depends on the player. I would ask as a Bolton fan, do you think think that Chamberlain is worth £12m spent? (never played in the Prem, never played outside of league 1) Coyle has come out and said that he thinks that Gary could play for a top club. He ...

Re: Official Gary Cahill transfer thread
I suspect there's a bit of bargaining going on. If Wenger and Gazidis went in with an offer of £12 mill immediately then maybe Bolton would hold out for 14-15. If they start low they'll shave a few mill off the final price maybe. As for a fair market value. That's tricky. If it was based purely on h...

Re: Official Gary Cahill transfer thread
Firstly as an Arsenal supporter can I just say that Abs doesn't speak for all of us (or in fact any of us). If the story about the £6 mill bid is true (and it's from the Mirror so I'm taking it with a big pinch of salt) it does apparently include add-ons. As it doesn't mention what those add-ons are...
