Re: Schu me the way to Amarillo - Summer 2025 Transfer Thread
Once upon a time there was a Fairy Schumacher who lived in a giant mushroom and made wonderful footwear capable of creating magic. One day he was visited by a National Elf inspector who said he wanted to order some mercurial football boots for his local team the Wandering Whites..He said...to be con...

Re: Tonight's Football
Is it just me? I'm seriously concerned about the skill standards of the players further down the squad who should be playing their hearts out to move up the ranking. Last night was garbage, like watching a bunch of kids who'd just met and turned out for a game, rubbish! The frightening thing for me...

Re: Tonight's Football
England got a good 3-1 tanking from Senegal tonight after being one up.(Harry Kane of course) Had a perfectly good goal disallowed by the ref to equalise at 2-2, but we were second best all round. Very poor show by England but our days of top dogs are history; not fast enough, skilled enough, brave ...

Re: Schu me the way to Amarillo - Summer 2025 Transfer Thread
Good points, Bob. A few online rumour-mongers of no fixed reputation are saying Huddersfield are sniffing round Owen Goodman, the Palace-at-Wimbledon keeper we’ve been linked with borrowing. It's all very Shakespeare (Much ado about nowt) right now...with little change in Wanderers world although t...

You can judge how long they've been away from sun-tan levels. More difficult in the case of the seniors who usually come back about Christmas..Bertie Wooster wrote: ↑Wed Jun 04, 2025 6:24 pmDoes anyone know when the players are due back for pre season training ?

England Women one up on Spain, lose 2-1. Just like watching Bolton. Own worst enemies giving the ball away. Way second best.

Re: Schu me the way to Amarillo - Summer 2025 Transfer Thread
The phrase, "buying into" is becoming as familiar as it is mysterious in any Bolton management related interview right now. But what exactly are the players being asked to do apart from earn their wages? Not being naive , but it seems all a bit gee-uppish ;something you'd see mid-season after being...

See your point, but following an ambulance in seems a bit pre- planned rather than spur of the moment? Just a thought...Worthy4England wrote: ↑Tue May 27, 2025 11:46 amNot football, but related. Don't care what teams you like or dislike, but can't have a parade without a car ramming into people and the world's a chunk fcuked up.

Rather difficult to make " then and now" comparisons between old fogies who have reached our age and are still alive (barely) and today's middle-age generation, without including the period and aftermath of World War 2, like ten years of rebuilding England. It just seems to make those comparisons a ...

Cardiff could go either way this season but I'm surprised more names haven't been flung toward the hat. https://www.ntt20.com/p/championship-managers-so-many-names "Getting your ducks in a row in May or early June makes a lot of sense."
