Everton Weekes, last of the three W's and the only man to make five test centuries on the trot. He was run out on 90 going for the sixth.

Re: Today I'm neither Angry nor Happy about....

Yep, like looking after our own first before spending billions on overseas aid you mean? Yeah, home first always, Hobes..a bit like North Korea or one of those happy, prosperous, organised countries, for example. Get your own house in order first hey? Others will surely follow....won't they? Meanwh...

Re: Today I'm neither Angry nor Happy about....

Imagine having a government so awful that they have to be shamed into not letting kids go hungry. Its truly abysmal times. Disgusting, yes, but that's been happening forever. We didn't have school meals because our parents couldn't afford them. What were our alternatives when your dad was a laboure...

Re: Today I'm happy about......

I'll let you into a secret: I'm happy about my quiet half hour. A daily time to go somewhere peaceful on you own and just close you eyes, deep breathe, think, meditate and reflect on your life. Make time and it will soon become a habit. It really helps. It may even be before you go to sleep at night...

Re: What are you playing tonight?

Including jazz remnants etc from the 40's, I've enjoyed music from every era since. There's something for everybody in all areas; I'm as happy with Prince Igor as Glenn Miller and Begin the Beguine (all-time favourite by Artie Shaw) as the full-scale Hallelujah chorus, Bach's Toccata and Fugue and R...

Re: General Chit Chat

It's sunny in Italy and raining in Farnworth right now.Fact. No data government ministries, charts, blame or finger pointing can change the fact because it is what it is. Boris is probably being amongst the most honest in being confused and admitting he just doesn't know the answers. That, I can adm...

Re: General Chit Chat

The only country on this planet that has a population both larger and denser than England is Bangladesh. They've only recorded 239 deaths due to COVID-19. Which clearly shows how shit we are. We all know that to be the case. Not the best example to quote, maybe? https://asia.nikkei.com/Spotlight/As...

Re: General Chit Chat

Russia is less socialist than you. But it’s not about politics. Doesn’t matter which party makes the calls they are difficult. It’s competence. And our government is incompetent. And you know it. You’re not even trying to pretend they aren’t. You say "not about politic". B.W.F.CI, then immediately ...

Re: General Chit Chat

A one off-: Meanwhile, in an ideal world where everyone plays by the rules and works for the common good, it might be said that anybody claiming to have all the answers is delusional. Hadn't to be too long before finger-pointing politics entered the arena and the blame gang talk as if we have a worl...
