Re: We Must Beat-a-borough - Away v Peterborough, Sat Apr 27th 12:30

If it were just a league match we'd be thinking a draw would be a decent result. Winning 5-0..well, stranger things have happened. One can but hope. Que Sera..:oyea:

Re: The Nostradamus file....

The Swiss investors are pulled together by Nick Lucock's brother and consists of around 25 families from Switzerland. I guess a £5m sum, split between 25 makes it more manageable coz it's only 200k a piece, and you can bet there's a tax loss deferring tax owed somewhere...What his brother said last...

Re: Season 23/24 Predictions

SO, staying with Evatt; in effect, win and be promoted ( subject to mitigations) . = heroic, lose = a failure and get the sack? Difference is a goal. Very Russian roulette, very Positively Fourth Street. COME ON YOU WHITES ... :oyea: :oyea: ae:) ae:) [/quote] No I’d not say it’s ’fail to get promot...

Re: Season 23/24 Predictions

Do you find it more or less reductive than second is success, third is failure? Success is promotion. The club have said that multiple times. In football there isn’t a prize for ‘nearly’. Thats not reductive in any sense. We should be getting out of this division - Evatt, the club the players are a...

Re: Season 23/24 Predictions

We should for me be second. We aren’t and I do think that’s a failure on Evatts part. Time to make it up though and win the play offs. Must be me. How a failure to come third? If it were carved in stone, all the bookies would be out of business. Disappointing, yes, but the human element, luck and i...

Re: Season 23/24 Predictions

Not pretending to be as knowledgeable as regular attenders at games, I held fire on voting, but I do firmly believe things change rapidly within the game, making predicting a difficult option.. Take the nonsensical "sack the manager" trend that prevails when teams don't win all the cigars and coconu...

Re: The Nostradamus file....

I gotta say (in a non-gammon way), that we'd be absolutely gutted if Derby lost and we didn't get what we needed after playing a weak side. If I were resting a few - and I'm not against resting some who might be tired/carrying niggles, I might want to keep them in close proximity to the bench, on t...

First game in ages I haven’t been able to watch, but sounds like more of the same from us.

Was Charles any better?
Livelier, but still able to shoot and head sideways. We could easily have had 5-0.

Re: Breaking pots... Home v Port Vale Sat 20th Apr. 3-0'Clock.

We're still not giving much credit to the opposition (discounting their fouling, play-acting, time wasting and general bad attitudes) because some of their football was quite tidy. One thing that stands out in all games is the fear of tackling in the box because the oppos go after penalty claims lik...

Cam Jerome and Dan should be made honorary citizens of Bolton. It'll be interesting to see who we keep at Transfer time, although yes or no on promotion would have a big say in that. :oyea:

Re: Breaking pots... Home v Port Vale Sat 20th Apr. 3-0'Clock.

In a nut shell (and we've been using a sledge hammer to crack one): D.J.B's 7-0 prediction could have come true if we could just shoot. Maghoma is a star, but a shot or two on the deck would help the curlers.. Charles can't buy a goal. He scored 7. yes, but how many has he missed (and I like him). C...
