"Ask not for Whom the bell tolls" Home to Fleetwood. Tues, 12th Nov. 19-45.

Something's off at the Tough sheet and it isn't much to do with the ozone. The Whites are well and truly in the headlights and Tuesday is a real box of kippers affair. Nothing less than a convincing win will have the fans heading for the exits in droves. It's all pretty much been said now, and our t...

Re: Taking Stock (port) ....A trip away to the neighbours. Sat Nov 9th, 3-0'clock.

Just eat a big slice of humble pie, Ian, and admit you got it badly wrong. Three weeks up in the rafters is hardly helping to back the team and eliminate your own behaviour, but even you can't be satisfied with the team efforts on the field. We were bossed, bullied and outplayed by basic lower leagu...

Re: The ianevattable sacking

WE NEED CHANGE.....What we are doing is wrong for this league. We are being beaten by mediocre teams who who know we won't fight in favour of a tippy-tappy passing game that we can't even cope with. Unless we change it, and like now, we're just another brick in the wall. Do we really think fans will...

We talk a good fight but fight like Shakespeare actors ( Juliets, that is). Not been as ashamed as this for a fair while.

Can't say this has been anything but awful. Knew this response was coming. Thankfully only 1 in it. Thanks as ever for the Couch DJBlu. The football is atrocious. No other word for it. Up front we're as dangerous as a Walnut Whip and the rest behave like they've never seen a football. We started wi...

Re: The ianevattable sacking

Folk seem to be saying the 3-4-2-1 works better against back fours. It's good that we can switch - something I've said since at least season two that Evatt should be getting his teams to do. Question is what we do today if Stockport play their usual back three. [/quote] Flatten em. :oyea: ae:) ae:)

Re: The ianevattable sacking

One of the comments about Mark Robins exiting Coventry. "The fact that Robins bought more attackers in the summer but neglected to fix the engine room was a baffling failure in a league as physical and intense as the Championship" Not sure that only applies in the Championship TBF. Didn’t we addres...

Entwistle (as in Kirith Entwistle, a local councillor) is a surname totally unique to Lancashire. Of more of a personal concern, it was also my mothers ( R.I.P.)surname. Oh Heck, hey up, go careful Mrs!..

Re: Taking Stock (port) ....A trip away to the neighbours. Sat Nov 9th, 3-0'clock.

I'd put Collins and McAtee up front to start as neither will work as hard as Dion and Vic later on when we may have to defend a lead. Best bet for the lead is when they fly at us from the off and might just let the drawbridge down. They surely won't want to lose at home after the last result. They d...

Re: Sadddle up for a Midland gallop. Away to Walsall, Sat Nov 2nd 3-0'clock.

Given Thomason got injured in training (and I suspect a few others). Perhaps we should be giving them less opportunities to train. When you realise we're talking professional footballers, that's a bit like saying " You're not paid to train, just play football". I find that a bit mind-blowing. You m...

Re: The Politics Thread

The latest "revelations" into the Royals incomes shows how far we have come since the days of the "King's Deer, livestock "and just about anything they fancied claiming tax on in the name of the God given rights as our leaders. We could start by giving the self-styled royalty one palace and grounds ...

Taking Stock (port) ....A trip away to the neighbours. Sat Nov 9th, 3-0'clock.

A long week with no footy is hard to take, so let's start early with a place to sulk, moan and forecast doom and gloom and be nervous about a mere two-point difference in the battle for glory. Hey, We may even win. A tad further than a Dave Challinor throw-in, awaits the Whites on the short t...

Re: Sadddle up for a Midland gallop. Away to Walsall, Sat Nov 2nd 3-0'clock.

I think we should win everything. If you're not going to try to do that, why bother playing? The F.A.Cup was, not too long ago, after the league championship, the most important event in the English football calendar. Now, in this era of corporation-owned T.V money and stocks and shares world it' s ...

Re: Sadddle up for a Midland gallop. Away to Walsall, Sat Nov 2nd 3-0'clock.

We could've played some of our youth players and made it harder for ourselves in the cup games, with a view to giving a clearer pathway towards progression. Thomason, Senior, Darcy, all got given a chance due to our situation at the time, Thomason being the stand out exception. Without that pathway...

Re: Sadddle up for a Midland gallop. Away to Walsall, Sat Nov 2nd 3-0'clock.

Yeah look maybe Conway has developed massively since being on loan and/or circumstances never conspired for him to get cup minutes when he was here. I just seem to recall plenty of cup fixtures in recent years when our first team has been injury riddled, yet Evatt hasn’t used the youths. Probably, ...

Just viewed the pen/goal again for the xxxtth time, and I have to admit how Dion managed to hit the keeper with his follow-up header with the whole goal to nod it in, defies some description. love the man, but if the ref had blown time..well.. we were ten seconds off a riot..
