The Nostradamus file....

Thought it might be an idea having a place to discuss current Wanderers things as they happen rather than interfere with specific match threads and following our fortunes . A sort of diary of what's happening, news and predictions till time for the Whites to march forth. Don't get much sense reading...

Re: Not exactly a Derby. Away to The Rams, Sat 16th March 3-0'clock.

Derby had 3 injuries during the game on Saturday alone - I think if that had happened to us it would have joined our list of excuses for not winning. They just got on with it. Sorry, Dibs, but there's no such thing as an excuse needed for not winning a football match where both sides are trying the...

Re: Not exactly a Derby. Away to The Rams, Sat 16th March 3-0'clock.

The problem is not that we focus on process and performance for me it’s that it isn’t working. Our form is not good . So maybe we should be looking at results and questioning them and be driven somewhat by that. If the insistence is ‘well we just trust the process’ it’s not worked. Not sure what yo...

Re: Not exactly a Derby. Away to The Rams, Sat 16th March 3-0'clock.

Their keeper has made one outstanding save. A decent save off thomasson. Of course he’s going to be happy with him. But they n. What about the one off JDB' brilliant diving header? That was a goal all the way till the keeper manged to get a hand on it? That could have ended the game in our favour. ...

Re: Not exactly a Derby. Away to The Rams, Sat 16th March 3-0'clock.

Marginally not good enough. Unfortunately that's been the story for the past 2 months on the whole. I think it's more a case of being good enough to be third in our league, jmjhb. How good is good enough? We deserved to win today, but didn't; that's because we didn't get the breaks and a poor ref. ...

Re: Rugby Union

Brilliant game, England fought the good fight but gave France too much ball. We handed it to them on a plate with penalties. Ramos missed what, one out of six? . It was almost a repeat of the under 19's last night....almost.

Re: Not exactly a Derby. Away to The Rams, Sat 16th March 3-0'clock.

Does any of this really matter? We lost 1-0 and they got three points. That's all that does. The referee was a fanatic who'd give handball in a goldfish bowl. We were worth a win and didn't get a draw. Football is hard to take sometimes. ae:) ae:) p.s. This was written in answer to Mar's post but di...

Re: Rugby Union

Crazy game this rugby. The reports say. .Down 21-05 at one stage, away in France; to turn around the game and win 45-31 is exceptional from this England 20s side. It's been a brilliant U20 Six Nations this year and England are fully deserving winners. That only tells the half of it. At half time we ...

Re: Not exactly a Derby. Away to The Rams, Sat 16th March 3-0'clock.

If Charles is back fit, does he feature tomorrow? Or do we rest him and hope NI rest him too Probably not at the start, although he'll be champing at the bit. I reckon he'll get 30 mins, depending how the score stands. Dion's always capable of a goal against the tide, but much will depend on our de...

Re: Race to the tape: 2024's League One promotion campaign

From Sheehan? We see much less of it from him, than we do Dempsey and Thomason. Always wants the ball, always trying to make things happen. I really don't see a case for dropping him at Stevenage just because he's a little 'un. Got bigger stones than anybody else in the team We have to adopt the on...

This side has answered a lot of question marks against it but aren't yet winning games I'd expect a top 2 side to win.
Sheffield Wednesday management probably thought the same... ae:) ae:)

Re: Race to the tape: 2024's League One promotion campaign

If we're racing (to the tape) for a couple of months, we're going to be a bit knackered when we get there? Bit too soon to be sprinting yet; maybe we ( fans) should ease off a bit and conserve some energy...just saying...

To be honest I’m not convinced Stevenage might be a game to rest Sheehan in anyway given their approach to ‘disrupting’ those types of silky players.
They offered little last night until the last twenty or so. Posh pretty much walked all over them the rest.

Not exactly a Derby. Away to The Rams, Sat 16th March 3-0'clock.

A seventy six mile trip doesn't really qualify as a Derby in the Strict football sense, so a two hour or so, coach trip, isn't exactly visiting the neighbours. It will also be a little less than a pleasure trip to Pride Park as a bit more than your normal footy match is at stake. Can the Super White...

Some real cause for caution with Posh. There's skill and pace in spades there. Clark Harris and Poku are electric. Thanks DJB.

All fair. Just noting that yon site’s probability calculations seem to have us only winning four plus change, which seems easier to outperform than I imagined. Same true for others, though. The thing statistical models don’t tell and nobody can explain is bogey grounds. "Frankly, my dear " , said C...

Re: Ox on the box, c*cks on the blocks? Oxford (H) Tue 12 Mar, 8pm

That was awesome. Ogbeta and Collins goals were beautiful in their construction. Won't see many better team goals anywhere. We so love teams who try to play football against us. They don't stand a chance. Each game will seem harder as they go now, because I doubt scoring five will happen too often....
