Re: Should I(E) stay or should I(E) go?

Go. If he’s here next season it will be toxic and horrific. If he stays it shows he has no integrity or ethics. He needs to resign tomorrow. That more than a bit, "Off with his head". Would you? Or just hold your hand up and say you got it wrong on the day? I know we're being asked our opinion, so ...

Re: Rising in Wembley's Glow: A Bolton Wanderers Tale - Bolton vs Oxford. 18th May 2024, 4.15pm

Just deleted a lengthy post because it won't change a thing. We got it wrong and lost. Everybody here knows why apart from our stubborn manager. Daft as it sounds, most of us could pick a side and a game plan that would have given us a better chance of winning. I 'm no Evatt knocker, or blamer, but ...

Evatt's problem today wasn't making a mistake; anyone can do that, it was his refusal to accept and correct it that cost us. He's a decent manager who got us within two goals of a promotion. That isn't failure, it's error. ae:) ae:)

Re: Rising in Wembley's Glow: A Bolton Wanderers Tale - Bolton vs Oxford. 18th May 2024, 4.15pm

Pretty much every post is saying the same thing, and none of us getting paid a lot of money for knowing where it all went wrong. Can't condone Oxford's tactics as I don't want us to play like that, but we didn't learn a thing. Those who said it was all over once they scored, were spot on. Charles, C...

Re: Rising in Wembley's Glow: A Bolton Wanderers Tale - Bolton vs Oxford. 18th May 2024, 4.15pm

Beaten comfortably by the better team. Oh well. No more to say really. Just not good enough. Bullied and no fight. Wish I could offer better excuses than that, but I can't. Our half looked like the Sahara desert most of the game. We were just asking to get beat, and we did. The flat foot Santos bal...

Re: Rising in Wembley's Glow: A Bolton Wanderers Tale - Bolton vs Oxford. 18th May 2024, 4.15pm

Great to read the Bruce Rioch's good wishes and memories article in the B.N. Will there ever be a better fight back game ever then the Reading one? A penalty save from Keith Branagan took us from 2-0 down to that incredible 4-3 win. Thoughts of it still give minor electric shocks to the system. That...

I may not be back on before Saturday night (though hotels can get boring, so I may). Just in case, I hope those of you who are going have a safe trip and good time. Regardless of varying views we're all pulling in the same direction and want Bolton to smash Oxford so we really have something tangib...

Re: Rising in Wembley's Glow: A Bolton Wanderers Tale - Bolton vs Oxford. 18th May 2024, 4.15pm

I'm sure the bookies would love the majority to bet on Oxford (they'll lay their bets off anyway) then Bolton go on and win. Poor bookmakers are as rare as redundant undertakers, so the odds can all change after a last minute rush either way. I'll stick with Andy Williams's "Impossible Dream" To dre...

I'm about to become Mr Unpopular 2024 (nothing new I know). I'm usually/always, a glass half-full chap, but hark, the light's are on RED. Put the happy juice and wacky-backy down and listen to yourselves will you? Oxford United could pop the balloon unless we stop pipe-dreaming and face reality. The...

Re: Tooling up: The summer 2024 transfer thread

Wide players who can dribble past defenders will not only make more goals, they'll make us much, much better defensively. We'll lose the ball further up the park and the back three will spend less time on it. Add the word, fast, pacey and physical in there and I'm all for that Ghost. ae:) ae:)
