Properly made me laugh. Bit tricky to pick the best headline out of that! Re: Should I(E) stay or should I(E) go?

We had a good side, a very good side, and we almost got there. I.E got it wrong in that one game and it cost us. The world keeps turning. Our time will come.

Re: Should I(E) stay or should I(E) go?

As last season ended, we (with 84 points) looked cast iron favourites to go up, being 10 points better than Oxford (77)with Posh just three points behind us and Barnsley,76 Lincoln 74 and Stevenage 71 next in attendance. Instead, Oxford upset the form book and kicked a few asses. Just how any of it ...

Re: Should I(E) stay or should I(E) go?

In my opinion (of course) as a God-fearing Christian, the Good Lord doesn't do football. He has too much on his plate with evil, wars, crime, drug and drink problems to concentrate on sport. He doesn't do bad either, only good, so no use blaming him for losing games. Best to keep religion where it b...

Re: Tooling up: The summer 2024 transfer thread

Who is saleable then? Can we cash in on Santos, Sheehan, Thomason, or Charles to plug the gaps we need in mentality? I’m with Insane at the moment, if that’s the squad for next season it’s not getting top 6, never mind top 2. Too many opposition managers have worked out how to play against us. So b...

Re: Tooling up: The summer 2024 transfer thread

What better players to have on the bench than DBV and Jerome? Surely both had one more season in them? With Ogbeta and Maghoma in the balance, what a great way to start building a squad by removing the foundations? Badly done I.E..I'm hesitant about in/out now.

Re: Should I(E) stay or should I(E) go?

If we had done an "Oxford", we'd now be promoted. Are we incapable of parking the bus and waiting for our chances to strike, because effectively, that's all they did and we gave them more green than a golf course to do it in. The first goal should never have happened and the second a pure accident. ...

Re: Moving on: Forward March.

We are truly back in the realm of "Rose Tinters" (and Doom Mongers).... But if TD can point me to where that set of stocks is in Kearsley, we might be able to put them to good use. T.D. can. My daughter lives in Ringley/Kearsley and I've seen them a few times off the bridge over the Irwell. https:/...

Re: Moving on: Forward March.

Sorry TD but with respect anyone thinking that Saturday can just be swept under the carpet and forgotten is deluded. Saturday was damaging and should Evatt stay and we are not in the top 6 after 10 games, the fans will turn and it will become toxic very quickly. Please do not under estimate the dam...

Moving on: Forward March.

Although it's almost June.. Time to put thoughts of Wembley and what might have been in the shredder and become the mighty Whites again. We weren't a million miles away, just two goals and a Blackadder quality cunning plot. Sulk ye not, and let's look forward. Let's start as we mean to go on and get...

Yeah it's both true that we were awful, and that they absolutely nailed it. Could see the plan and they got it bang on. And thereby hangs the tale Pru, you could see it, I could see it, and the bulk of thirty thousand Whites supporters could see it: Why couldn't Ian Evatt? Send for Sherlock... :sho...

Re: Should I(E) stay or should I(E) go?

Common sense seems to be overhauling passion. Change is needed and I think he must know it, , but not the manager, just his mind.

Golden rule: Do not let players run at you . Don't back off. Oxfords rule seemed to be "If you can't get the ball, get the man". They did, it worked.

Re: Should I(E) stay or should I(E) go?

Go. If he’s here next season it will be toxic and horrific. If he stays it shows he has no integrity or ethics. He needs to resign tomorrow. That more than a bit, "Off with his head". Would you? Or just hold your hand up and say you got it wrong on the day? I know we're being asked our opinion, so ...

Re: Rising in Wembley's Glow: A Bolton Wanderers Tale - Bolton vs Oxford. 18th May 2024, 4.15pm

Just deleted a lengthy post because it won't change a thing. We got it wrong and lost. Everybody here knows why apart from our stubborn manager. Daft as it sounds, most of us could pick a side and a game plan that would have given us a better chance of winning. I 'm no Evatt knocker, or blamer, but ...

Evatt's problem today wasn't making a mistake; anyone can do that, it was his refusal to accept and correct it that cost us. He's a decent manager who got us within two goals of a promotion. That isn't failure, it's error. ae:) ae:)

Re: Rising in Wembley's Glow: A Bolton Wanderers Tale - Bolton vs Oxford. 18th May 2024, 4.15pm

Pretty much every post is saying the same thing, and none of us getting paid a lot of money for knowing where it all went wrong. Can't condone Oxford's tactics as I don't want us to play like that, but we didn't learn a thing. Those who said it was all over once they scored, were spot on. Charles, C...
