Unless I’ve missed something Charles is still injured?
Aye, just wishful thinking on my part. :(

Against the grain, but I'd see Charles and Dempsey in there. Certainly Jon Bod at some time. This is important and no time for less than best.

I'm washing my hair, unfortunately.
Pity, a makeshift team knocked 7 past Austria. Conceded 2 back, both headed corners, and it was just a friendly, but 7-2 is no bad display. Half the regulars weren't even on the subs bench.

Re: North by North West. Away to Blackpool Sat 24th Feb, 3-0'clock

"A rose, by any other name still smells just as sweet" sayeth The Bard, (or as sour, in the case of football), so Blackpool or Barnsley, Wycombe or Wigan, the name matters little when the final whistle sounds. Sure, some we relish more than others, but like the three inch putt counting the same as a...

Re: creeeeeeeekeeeeeet

300 used to sound like a high total in test cricket; now, it isn't. What India do next will probably determine the outcome, then again, it may be that England have done remarkably well, so well done the lads and Joe Root. Armchair cricket, like most sports, is an easy game to play. Doing is is a lit...

Worth remembering that the opposition can't guarantee perfection ; they're just as likely as us to be less than perfect. We're not were we are by sheer luck. :oyea:

North by North West. Away to Blackpool Sat 24th Feb, 3-0'clock

With a distinct odour of Ozone, hamburgers and fish and chips on the breeze on Saturday at Blackpool, (followed by pies and gravy, at Wigan Pier next Tuesday,) a near as we're local to get northern rivalry trilogy is on the cards. Not going to be any chances of walkovers in either and the Seasiders ...

Re: Contract expiry

Each player is of course in a slightly different situation. Some, like Rico, Baxter, Toal and Sheehan are likely quite confident that they are Championship level players, and may be hesitant to sign new deals prior to the end of the season, even if we baked in significant wage rises for promotion. ...

Not sure about where the numbers have come from, but there's a world of difference between having the same "job title" and "doing the same job, to the same level of capability/competence, for the same amount of time." :-)

Re: Contract expiry

In relation to the above: I don't normally concern myself with salaries etc, prepared to trust the manager and club, but Baxter on £6000 a week, and Coleman on £1100 for doing the same job? That raised my eyebrows?

Re: There's a Moose loose about these U's Take Twos. Cambridge United Away. 20/02/2024

Dempsey reminds me of Mark Davies. He's both a good team player and an individual one. Many of our good moves originate from him taking the ball forth instead of just wellying it hopefully onward. For the rest, what happens next; do our new players fit into the current system or does it adapt to inc...

Not the best, but I keep reminding myself about out injuries, Baxter, Santos, Thomason, Williams, Charles...on that basis, a good ending and three points but we made it hard. Have to stop coming from behind to Hulton Lane goals though. I was gibbering at half-time. If we get to using our strikers se...
