Re: 2024, hoodwink and bamboozle the public
I think it must be Aquarius time. I hardly recognise where I live now. What used to be semi-detached houses with garden, hedges, lawns and driveways now looks like Lego Land. Another ten years of Bolton Council and we'll be the next Lyme Regis.

Re: Rugby Union
Not the right place, I know, but I've been watching the Rugby Sevens at the Olympics to pass time. Surprise of the night for me was to see Dupont, the icon of French Rugby Union, scoring the winning goal in a Seven's game. :? Ireland threw it away by missing three conversion kicks that would have ha...

Re: Division Three, 2024/25
Well we keep getting told out squad is Champo ready (with maybe a couple of additions). We'll shit 'em. :D Going to say right now, at the risk of excommunication, that unless we change our style of play we ain't winning anything. "Hungry like the wolf" is the only way forward, and unless we fight a...

Re: Our formation
Surely our formation depends on that of the current opposition as much as anything and thus flexible as opposed to regimented? As ever, there's always somebody ready to blame a loss on a victim(s) , when actually it might be that the foes are out-thinking us because we're predictable. We talk a lot ...

Re: Tooling up: The summer 2024 transfer thread
We will have to start the first five or so games with the players we’ve got now. So get them properly fit. Properly fit not Evatt fit. Get them drilled into a simple shape. Build some simple and repeatable patterns of play. And go and win some games. I suspect that we have better players than most ...

Good to see Chorley giving us a game. All the best games are decided by a fine edge.

Re: Pre-season, 2024(/25)
So, after all the lending and blending, will we finish up with a Bolton Wanderers side, or one where our progress depends solely on temporary loanees that just use us as a stepping stone to further their careers? It's surely time to define just how "massive" a club we are. I know everybody is trying...

Re: Pre-season, 2024(/25)
Too soon to make consequential comments. Boro was obviously an experimental exercise and a watching brief. First match of the new season should be a letter of intent. That said, never too soon to start winning. Que Sera.

Re: Tooling up: The summer 2024 transfer thread
A controversial topic I know, but Ricardo is a wee bit worrying for me. He has a habit of wandering a bit far forward at times and frankly, he's no Ussein Bolt at getting back. I know we think the offside trap will deter the front men/wingers, but it needs careful judgement as to how and when. At ti...

Re: Lionesses thread.
England under 19's played Serbia last night and were fortunate to come away with a draw. Penalty in the 88th minute was harsh on Serbia because our lasses were second best in every department, pace, fitness, desire and not the least skills. The days of wine and roses are over
