Coleman (sigh) Forrester Santos Toal Sheehan JDC Maghoma Thomason Ogbeta Charles Collins He's only as good as those in front let him be. Can't blame him for poor clearances and ball loss from casual defending. We're going to be under attack from the first whistle and bombarding our box is everybody...

 A great thread title Gun, perfect. Couldn't expect "Sense and Sensibility" in a Wigan encounter. Game wise, we need to forget all that's gone before and do what we do best, just play football. At em.. :oyea:

Re: North by North West. Away to Blackpool Sat 24th Feb, 3-0'clock

Their first one, yesterday - well played them - but really? Quick free kick and we've switched off. I know we complain when we're looking to go quick and they put a man right on the ball, but fairly standard.... Which raises a question I've been meaning to ask: At one time you were supposed to wait...

Re: North by North West. Away to Blackpool Sat 24th Feb, 3-0'clock

Well, a chance to disprove the lazy ‘bottlers’ narrative comes around quickly on Tuesday. Watching the rugby last night I think we can expect the pitch to be a little challenging , so a hard fought slog appears to be on the cards. Onwards and upwards. I'm not sure Insaney knows what the phrase "bot...

Against the grain, but I'd see Charles and Dempsey in there. Certainly Jon Bod at some time. This is important and no time for less than best.

I'm washing my hair, unfortunately.
Pity, a makeshift team knocked 7 past Austria. Conceded 2 back, both headed corners, and it was just a friendly, but 7-2 is no bad display. Half the regulars weren't even on the subs bench.

Re: North by North West. Away to Blackpool Sat 24th Feb, 3-0'clock

"A rose, by any other name still smells just as sweet" sayeth The Bard, (or as sour, in the case of football), so Blackpool or Barnsley, Wycombe or Wigan, the name matters little when the final whistle sounds. Sure, some we relish more than others, but like the three inch putt counting the same as a...

300 used to sound like a high total in test cricket; now, it isn't. What India do next will probably determine the outcome, then again, it may be that England have done remarkably well, so well done the lads and Joe Root. Armchair cricket, like most sports, is an easy game to play. Doing is is a lit...

North by North West. Away to Blackpool Sat 24th Feb, 3-0'clock

With a distinct odour of Ozone, hamburgers and fish and chips on the breeze on Saturday at Blackpool, (followed by pies and gravy, at Wigan Pier next Tuesday,) a near as we're local to get northern rivalry trilogy is on the cards. Not going to be any chances of walkovers in either and the Seasiders ...

Re: Contract expiry

Each player is of course in a slightly different situation. Some, like Rico, Baxter, Toal and Sheehan are likely quite confident that they are Championship level players, and may be hesitant to sign new deals prior to the end of the season, even if we baked in significant wage rises for promotion. ...
