Re: Cahill out of the Euros
Not too sure about that, Tango. If he's been left out because Hodgson thinks that he's not a better option than Terry, Cahill, Lescott or even Jagielka, then that's fair enough. But when there's a choice between him and yon Kelly lad, who's experienced two minutes of international football and playe...

Re: Bottom 5 fixtures
Providing Blackburn then lose at Stamford Bridge next Sunday, yes.
Should we beat Stoke next week, it would leave Wigan needing a result at Wolves to stay up.

Re: Best newcomer
To be fair to Nige, its no easy task to play alongside Mark Davies (even though Mark has a lot to offer) in a 4-4-2 as he has so often this season. I really think that he's the least of our problems at the moment. In fact, I'd go as far as to say that without him we'd have been relegated weeks ago.

Re: Stoketastrophe: which is worse?
Relegation in general will be worse. But I voted for the semi because if we go down I won't be dwelling on that one stoke game, I'll be thinking about losing to wigan, rolling over to everyone top half etc etc so the actual match memories won't be as bad whereas the semi was horrifying coyle's brai...

Regardless of how they might have been playing before, you can't say that you're not surprised Wigan have beaten Liverpool, Man U, Arsenal and now Newcastle surely?

Re: Sunderland Away
Villa have to play Spurs at home and then Norwich away on the last day. Not unreasonable to think they might end the season on thirty-seven points.

Re: Bottom 5 fixtures
Level now with QPR who play Chelsea, Stoke and City.
If we can't better their points return from those threes fixture we deserve everything that we get.

What on earth's just happened?
As an aside, those that have travelled tonight have been fantastic throughout so maybe they deserve something to cheer.

Is there any other team that makes as many unforced errors as we do?newboy wrote:Business as usual I see can#t keep possesion
If we're second best on the night I can accept it, but surely professional footballers shouldn't consistently pass the ball straight into the path of the opposition players.

Didn't we try to sign him when he was at Reading before he went to Hoffenheim? I'm sure I remember reading the we'd made an offer.

Re: Bottom 5 fixtures
Look at the teams we have left to play and the reverse already played fixtures. Swansea, lost. Spurs, lost West Brom, lost. Villa, lost. Sunderland, lost. Only Stoke was a win. Not exactly encouraging either! We don't beat teams above us in the table much. Fulham was typical of that. That's why I'v...

Re: Marvin Sordell
I share your disappointment mr picccollo, however, Marv clearly has talent and, should we stay up, I think that next year he'll have a signifcant impact.
FWIW, I think that Sordell is twice the player that Vaz Te is/was.

Happy Birthday Fab, as others have said, here's to many more.
I don't think its quite sunk in yet just how wonderful his recovery he has been. I've read today that he might be home in a week's time. Absolutely incredible!

Re: How many should OC rest/rotate/drop for Spurs?
Spurs have lost three in a row now and with last night's result at the Emirates, Arsenal are just a point behind them in fourth place. I think that Redknapp might choose to rest some players to focus on Champions League qualification. For this reason, I'd play our best XI. Same 4-5-1 formation as Sa...

Re: Wiggin game
Interesting to read all the positive reviews. Listening to Charlie Nicholas on Sky and he said we were in control and rarely looked in danger. Then I read the match report on BBC website. 'Wigan dominated the game for long periods' Ignore'em. As long as we're creating twelve shots at goal it...
