Re: Irans Nukes
Just bowing to your reverend-ness. I thought Bishops were noble, and were addressed as "your lordship". trying to be polite whilst disagreeing with you - something the Iranian mullahs don't bother with (politeness, not disagreement). Iran doesn't carry out bombing raids, it just pronounces death sen...

Re: Time to go
One last game vs Stoke next week for me. To see if its the payers. If they can't get motivated against the team that kick our ass in April then its really time. I was so pleased to see the appointment of Coyle and last season (up to the semi) was by far the best i have seen. Last game for me next s...

Re: Irans Nukes
What should the West do about Iran in your opinion Bish? If anything. That's a serious question, by the way. I genuinely don't have a clue or an opinion on how we ought to proceed on this one. honestly? I think we should leave them the feck alone. I'd be inclined to agree with your noble opinion if...

Re: Irans Nukes
Anyway, Israel's problem is that they're not Muslim, and that won't change anytime soon. A-Mad-Dinnerjacket will want to bomb them out of existance if he gets himself some shiny new nuclears. Therefore it doesn't really give Israel much of a choice... I think they're going to have a go. I think they...

Re: Irans Nukes
No, but it was Axman's. Correct, as in Hallabja. And as we know he definitely had them, then how come they were never found... The answer to that is simple: the Americans (and us) never had control of the ground in Iraq. we controlled/patrolled certain key areas, but there were parts we never even ...

Re: Irans Nukes
hmmm.... after we were told with absolute certainty that Iraq had nuclear weapons ready to use (as a prelude to bombing the shit out of them) - why are you so quick to believe the same people telling you Iran has them? Nobody said Iraq had nukes, just WMD (chemicals - which they almost certainly did)

Re: Irans Nukes
I think it's probably safer for Israel to have a go now , rather than waiting for America to feck it up and leave a blazing trail of downed helicopters, or waiting for A-Mad-Dinnerjacket to decide he wants to start WWIII. Nigh on impossible, I read nothing short of a nuke would be capable of taking...

THE PHILOSOPHY OF LIFE A philosophy professor stood before his class and had some items in front of him. When the class began, wordlessly he picked up a large empty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it with rocks, rocks about 2" in diameter. He then asked the students if the jar was full. They ag...

Re: Bolton v Stoke
Stoke were fairly rubbish though. I wonder if we can actually fight an in from team now. Is there some sort of rule that anyone who lives in Australia can only support BWFC if they're a miserable git? You obviously didn't meet me when I was living Manchester! I was as happy as anyone with the win o...

A Newlywed couple wanted to join a church. The pastor told them, "We have special requirements for new parishioners. You must abstain from sex for one whole month." The couple agreed, but after two-and-a-half weeks they returned to the church. When the Pastor ushers them into his office, the wife is...

I haven't yet read through all 85 pages of this thread, so hopefully this isn't a repeat. Football Quotes for your delectation: 'My parents have been there for me, ever since I was about 7.' David Beckham 'I would not be bothered if we lost every game as long as we won the league.' Mark Viduka 'Alex...

Re: bolton chants
As promised on the Sconny Botland thread: having been to a match at Inverness Caledonian Thistle I heard a couple of bursts of a chant that I found quite amusing. it apparently has its origins in a famous victory over Celtic and the following day's sports headline in the local paper was "Super Cali ...

Re: Sconny Botland
Well, I did go: and a cracking match it turned out to be, so thanks again for the info. It didn't even matter that the Highlanders lost (and my new Scottish chums were sorely disappointed) because from a neutral point of view the match had everything. The ground was alright too - it even had goalpos...
