A substitution that worked. Well done Owen, fair play.

Pratley scores.

Great "save" by Boggers, if he hadn't got to it there wouldn't have been any doubt to benefit from.

Re: Silkmen v Trotters (match thread)

A Pratley " small odourless parp of little consequence" How I miss Call My Bluff. "pratley" - adverb, synonymous with ineptly or awkwardly. "he swung his leg pratley, and the ball bounced off his ankle" "I asked that dead fit lass who works in the chippy if she wanted to go out to the cinema with m...

Re: Mark Davies

most teams at the top level are moving decisively away from the traditional 4-4-2 with the flat midfield 4. Man U are probably the last of a dying breed in that respect, and they've only been able to get away with it for so long because of the quality of the individual players they have through the...

Re: Petrov

I was one of those slagging Petrov earlier and I don't take it back. His form and his workrate have improved, simple as. Much as I enjoy blaming Robinson for everything, I'm pretty sure he wasn't stood behind Petrov earlier in the season shouting "go on, pass it to one of their players! Go on, hit t...

Re: Mark Davies

any midfielder who had claims to be the "best player at the club" would be able to have a consistent impact in a 4-4-2 - if he can't and i don't believe M Davies can then he is as much a luxury player as a Petrov. for me as far as centre mid goes Yeah but judging a player on whether he will fit int...

Re: Adam Bogdan

I think he's got every chance of making it as a first choice at PL level, but it's so hard to predict whether young keepers will come good. Partly because it's all about confidence, partly because they spend much longer becoming the finished article than outfield players. Chelsea was a bad game for ...

Re: I'll drive the bugger there my self

Great moment tonight when Saha was played through in the first half. Ricketts matched him for pace, then outmuscled him to get goalside and win the ball. My very first thought was "thank Christ Robinson wasn't playing, or we'd be 1-0 down".

Re: Official Gary Cahill transfer thread

Relegation will cost us a lot more than £7m.

Based on the last few games, we may have a shot at avoiding relegation with Cahill in the side. Without him, we have no chance.

I hope it does fall through. Painful to write off the £7m but I'd rather stay up.

Re: Onwards and Upwards Everton vs Bolton (Match thread)

Three decent, battling performances out of the last four. Would be nice to think we're turning a corner, but it'll be hard to sustain if/when Cahill goes. He was immense tonight, in really difficult conditions for a centre half. Given how much relegation would cost, I'm starting to hope the Chelsea ...

Re: Alonso Charged With Reckless Homicide

While that's entirely true, presumably even unmitigated racist c*nts would prefer not to be in prison. I think it's more along the lines that he is (or was) a rather dim sociopath who lacked the imagination to comprehend, or be "bovvered" by, the legal jeopardy he was in. Alternately a supremely sin...

Re: Alonso Charged With Reckless Homicide

I wonder if it's been affecting his performances, or not? When Woodgate and Bowyer were charged after that scrap with Asian students about ten years ago, someone close to the case told me that while they were waiting for the trial(s), Bowyer carried on training and playing as though nowt was going o...

Re: Bolton v Wolves: The biggest match of the season, again

Given that we're adrift of the team in 17th I would say that if we lose or draw this then we should start preparing for the championship. A win would give us hope, and it's the hope that kills you! I don't want hope! Well, I'm hoping we do really well in the championship. Where does that leave me a...

Absolutely shite defending for both goals. Welcome to the rest of your life once Cahill goes. Not that he's much help right now.

Robinson gets turned inside out by Obertan twice in the space of a minute, hilarious.
