Re: The "Nothing to see here"Transfer thread

I rarely post in here but find myself reading this thread almost daily just because it beats having to trawl through the internet looking for all the latest rumours, and with no access to newspapers or news from local people because I live in Taiwan, but every single time I see someone mention that ...

Re: Now he's gone, who's next?

I already said Di Canio is my favourite so I'm going to be slightly biased because I'm totally convinced by him, I've seen much less from Solskjaer other than some stats and a lot of written praise. So you just want a manager who is a crowd pleaser? A player pleaser? What utter nonsense. Quite simp...

Re: Now he's gone, who's next?

It's so very short sighted and when you appoint a manager you MUST have a long term plan at the same time. So your 'long term plan' is to appoint a manager with no experience of managing in the Championship, let alone any experience of managing in the Premier League? Brilliant. I don't recall sayin...

Re: Now he's gone, who's next?

Mick McCarthy - appointing him would really make me question our ambitions for the future. His record speaks for itself. Get's a team promoted, lingers around with them for a bit, either get's relegated or is pushed before relegation and then the club struggles for a bit before another manager rest...

Re: Now he's gone, who's next?

I see, so Paolo Di Canio is "brilliant" but Solskjaer is "unproven", Holloway only good when there is no pressure and Appleton not ready for managing "big time players". Di Canio is brilliant, despite having to be pulled apart from one of his own players in the tunnel by stewards, is under investig...

Re: Now he's gone, who's next?

There are a lot of awful managers' names being floated around and this is just a list of the guys with the lowest odds so far: Dougie Freedman - he could be alright, but appointing him would be a whole lot like getting Coyle last time. Jimmy Phillips - not a chance, no proper experience so it's far ...

Re: Jaffka's gossip thread on the ins and outs at the 'Bok

Stat's themselves aren't bollocks, but 'you can prove anything with statistics' whilst an obvious exaggeration it's hardly entirely untrue. You could argue the best passer in a team is the one with the higher completed passes % against the number of attempts, whilst the flaw with the stats here is ...

Re: Jaffka's gossip thread on the ins and outs at the 'Bok

Stats are sometimes bollocks though. What does that even mean? Does it, perhaps, mean that you have a pre-conceived idea of what Muamba does, and when that is borne out by the statistics, you can say "Stats are sometimes bollocks", and relate how you once saw him cock-up badly, ignoring all the tim...

Re: CH's all singing all dancing transfer gossip thread on t

Sky Sports say it's Sordell. Regarding DJ Campbell, I know he got those goals for Blackpool last year, but he's not actually a good player, and I seem to remember the goals came in purple patches - especially when Blackpool were in fine attacking form, any striker would get goals when you are set to...

Re: CH's all singing all dancing transfer gossip thread on t

I don't quite understand people's beef with Nixon, he's one of the most helpful journalists out there, trying to update people with whatever information he's getting. Not his fault if things change. Sounds like some of you would respect him more if he just kept his mouth shut until something was con...

Well if he hadn't already topped himself, he's just read that and he's sure to be dangling off the banister now. Show some love!

Re: CH's all singing all dancing transfer gossip thread on t

What an absolute shitter of a day. Zaha is off, Iturbe is off, Williams unlikely (and unnecessary,) only 2 that are currently still active are 2 bids that are lower than what the clubs wants.

Seems like Nixon has topped himself as well.

Re: CH's all singing all dancing transfer gossip thread on t

"One loan is done. Two other possibles are loans. One target is cheap. Three others would be buys." Right, so the loan that is supposedly done is Miyaichi. The loans would be Iturbe + another (Jese from Madrid, maybe? This is just speculation on my part, based on absolutely nothing). The cheap one ...
