Re: New ownership - Football Ventures
Bolton have finished bottom of that pub league on 11,500 average crowds.
Coventry and Rotherham have finished 1st and 2nd on 6,600 and 8.900 crowds
Think its more to do with the standard of the owners, players and management at the football clubs than the fans

Re: Administration and recovery
Just to throw something into the mix. Some Bolton fans hate that ground in Horwich and would be more than happy if it was sold, demolished andwith the money a cheaper stadium was built back in Bolton town centre 6 miles away.Nothing wrong with the stadium itself but the location of it is awful. I'd ...

Re: Administration and recovery
It was a stupid idea to build an expensive to maintain stadium in Horwich when we had a cheap one in Bolton. I can only think someone on the club's board was on the take. The future of the current club is so bleak in Horwich i'd be up for liquidation and starting a new club back in Bolton. It would b...

Re: Who's the naked woman on the white horse? H v Coventry 10/Aug/19
Are you not thinking of lowest Reebok league gate? Nope, I thought our lowest attendance record for a league game (excluding cup matches) was 10,000+bits. I thought our record ever lowest attendance was in some Checkatrade cup match against Everton reserves or somebugger at circa 1,300. But I'm beg...

Re: Administration and recovery
Another point re Eddie Davies' early years is that a very healthy transfer profit was made between the Ipswich play off defeat and Preston play off win.Gudjohnsen and Claus Jensen being sold for £ 8 million in the summer of 2000, Frandsen and Ricketts coming in for roughly £2 million. Our coffers ...

Re: Administration and recovery
Just because somebody else spent more doesn't mean he wasn't spending money :conf: Pretty sure he was subsidising losses right from the beginning . That Jack Walker and Mohammed al-Fayed were putting in more is neither here nor there. Maybe, my point was that in the early years he wasn't spending h...

Re: Administration and recovery
Whatever David Moyes thinks, Bolton had the lowest wage bill in the Premier League in the 2001/02 season. I don't have the figures at hand but would be shocked if Bolton ever had a higher wage bill than Everton in Eddie's time

Re: Administration and recovery
Just to be a picky bastard - the start of our downfall pre-dates Davies being on the board. We were £24m in debt in 1999. Situation not dissimilar to today. Difference is when Davies came on board, he actually had money and was happy to spend it. In the early years whatever Eddie was spending his m...

Re: Administration and recovery
Marc Iles was saying all last week that there was no chance of liquidation, he must have known the PFA would bail us out if we couldn't get our own house in order.I feel sorry for Bury that they aren't considered important enough for PFA money.

Re: Administration and recovery
What happened to 'the deal is imminent' headline reported on sky & the bbc etc. on Monday - was this just a deflective bullshit announcement put out by the extremely incompetent admins because Bassini had rolled up spouting his shite ? Looks like it, the administrators are slow to talk about things...

The Times is reporting that the Eddie Davies Trust ( £17.5 mill) and Ken ( £7.5 mill) are asking for £24.5 million between them.
If true it's no wonder that Sharon is having to haggle the price down.

It's too early yet, if BWFC were liquidated i would defintely follow the new Bolton town club but i doubt there is the interest in a rival club if BWFC survive.

Re: Ken Anderson - New Owner (Definitely. For Now ..... )
We also seemed to mess up selling players on. Wigan and Blackburn seemed able to sell players at high prices whereas we got ourselves into tricky contract expiry issues and lost out. Cahill being the prime example - bought as a promising young centre back for £5m, turned into an England internation...

And then Ken will "have to consider exercising the alternative options available to me." In other words, begin the process for administration or liquidation. Me me me, what a selfish tvvat. No apology for the Brentford match being cancelled or people not being paid. It seems the staff won't be paid ...

Re: Doidge returns to FGR
Whats in it for Ken? In the last (only) accounts a 525K consultancy fee , a 125k fee for his son and probably 199k each for Ken and his wife as salaries.salaries under 200k don't need to be disclosed and Ken conveniently added his wife as a director meaning she could be included in the salaries. Ken...

Taken from another forum....comments from KA a couple of months ago “I can assure you that I will be doing everything possible and take whatever actions I think are necessary to ensure that our results improve” Since that quote from KA we’ve played 9 lost 7 drawn 2 scored 4 and he's done absolutely...
