Re: Beckford

How many seasons have we said that we dont have a dependable striker - I've lost count... having a striker capable of nicking games makes all the difference when you're not playing great, sadly our lack of creativity/decentness leaves us relying on lucky goals from punts upfield. Having Beckford, N'...

Re: Rams to the slaughter?

I thought we lost at Tranmere, not Shrewsbury. We've lost to everyone else I've lost track  haha.. sorry I did mean Tranmere, we managed to beat Shrewsbury, how could I forget that win of sheer magnitude! I'm not saying we're crap now because we played a weakened team - but DF should have pla...

Re: Rams to the slaughter?

We dropped a clanger not playing our strongest team against Shrewsbury in the cup - going into injury time & losing on penalties began the confidence slump - I just dont get tinkering with a team that needs to remain constant. He doesn't know what his best starting 11 is yet, and who can blame him g...

Re: Moritz

We've got a fair few tacklers/break-up-merchants already, with hopefully something in the wings to happen with Spearing, this kind of attacking midfielder is exactly the kind of position we needed to improve on. I think with the right service our strikers will do much better than last season - we've...

Re: The "Nothing to see here"Transfer thread

I dont understand why we're spending so much time woo'ing Beckford to be honest... his stats are hardly great or good to be honest, more tepid like a cup of tea that's been sat in a shadey area for about 45 minutes. 2006 Carlisle United (loan) 4 (1) 2007 Scunthorpe United (loan) 18 (8) 2010–2011 Eve...

Re: Eagles role next season

Why do people always want a 20+ goal a season striker? Cardiff and Hull managed automatic promotion without a single player scoring more than 10 goals for either. Both Burnley and Blackburn each had a striker score 20+ goals and where did they end up? It's not about the player that scores the most ...

Eagles role next season

Looks like DF is bringing Eagles to play off the striker(s) next season, and bring in another winger to take his place... given his stop/start performances I'm not sure putting so much emphasis on him to 'shine' next season is the answer to our problems. On his day he's a match winner, that's for su...

Re: SKD testimonial happening

I hope they pick a team to play against with some actual meaning to the occasion - having Jaaskelainen's against Hibernian was a bit farcical to be honest.

Just saying hi...

Hello chaps..

Just saying hi... regular poster on the FootyMad board - but giving up now due to it's mad Microsoft Silverlight issues that plague my Mac on a daily basis.

Here's to the new season - let's hope we start as we ended the last one.

COYWM!

Re: Club Rebranding

We always seem to not get it quite right... it's almost there... I've been wanting a 'normal' type neck on the shirt for a while, and I like the Adidas branding on the arms & kit logo. The new crest is Ok too. Have to be honest and say (as I thought it might) the FibrLec sponser looks a bit Vauxhall...

Re: Burnley vs Bolton

Think the serious lack of TV appeal for the Championship is what hurts the most about the drop - we wont be on till around midnight, it'll show just the goals then get analysed by Claridge before the woman who pops up in the background pretends someone from Preston has sent in a text message at 12:3...
