Re: The wonderful EU and Migration thread!

Dont post much but I am 3 years into a 5 year stint to become a health professional at a ripe old of 55, not a nurse btw. Nursing is more complex. You cannot become a nurse or any other health professional in the UK without obtaining a degree whilst training to do so. For many wanting to do this in ...

] I you ever get chance to go to Mexico I absolutely implore you to visit Chichen Itza. It'll blow your mind, I promise Yes it is a fine very impressive site and one I try to get to on my holidays there; however what is more mind blowing is that Chichen Itza in the scheme of Mayan cities is a relat...

Re: What are you watching tonight?

Our understanding of science and maths is primitive. One of the most thought provoking things Cox said was that if somehow humanity were to survive until our Sun turns into a red giant, our current state of evolution would appear to them as the earliest single cell microbes beside the initial sulphu...

Re: What are you watching tonight?

Was lent the DVD of 'Prometheus'. Cutting edge Sci-fi it is not. I loved Alien and Blade Runner but Prometheus is not worth the pixels it takes up on my screen: same old same old, right down to the android having his head ripped off and continuing to talk; even a pastiche of the alien erupting from...

Re: Allardyce piece in the London Evening Standard

The problem the Allardyce lovers have is that they can't see you can think he's the best manager we've had in 50 years, but still think he's a fat headed, egotistical, arrogant cock You could say the same of several successful managers over the years such as Mourinho Ferguson et al , perhaps that i...

Re: Allardyce piece in the London Evening Standard

Makes me sad and annoying that a lot of posters on here and many more on the other site practically hate the bloke. They expect some sort of "loyalty" from managers and whine like teenage girls when managers take off to take higher profile jobs. They are no different than any of our players who woul...

Re: Hillsborough Disaster

I won't be reading the report as I can't be arsed...see, I'm not bothered went on, as it happens Not to say I don't care that many innocents died, but I don't care why It's just the way I am However, let's try this one Do we know that 'the crush' outside - I'm assuming there was a crush, hence PC P...

Re: Hillsborough Disaster

However on reflection when one looks at the facts and todays report it becomes clear that being drunk, ticketless or climbing over turnstiles had little contribution to the deaths at Hillsborough. Indeed most of those behavioural problems were present in 1946 at the Burnden disaster but I do not re...

Re: Hillsborough Disaster

The police errors occured because of the late-comers, many pissed, a good number ticketless, who caused panic outside & the police & stewards wrongly, but for what they thought were good reasons & opened gates leading to the horrific crushing. It was a terrible error. Not planned murder. Subsequent...

Re: The Religion Thread

but what are these 'changes in anti-hate laws' you refer to? I suppose that I don't wish to be told I must respect systems which promote what I would call medieval practices and behaviour, some of which are still against the laws of this country but now seem to be "brushed" under the carpet as the ...

Re: The Religion Thread

for my ten-penneth I was brought up in a strict RC environment. A horrible experience. Whilst I have no problems with people who need belief, I pity them. However I think the recent changes in the anti hate laws which state I must respect belief systems are simply wrong. What I do find offensive are...

Re: Has Coyle's footballing "vision" been diluted or confuse

I followed Coyles managerial career from his Falkirk days and more closely when he went to Burnley as I have quite a few Burnley mates. He inherited a decent side at Burnley and didnt actually make too many additions. The season he got them promoted they were pretty average but went on decent league...

Re: owen out 2012/2013

We have four points from four, so if we win all three of them we'd have 13 from seven, still not two per game. Obviously Coyle wouldn't be sacked after three wins on the bounce, but it shows how far off that 2ppg pace we are. In fact we're still bumbling along at 1ppg, which won't do anything excep...

Re: Salt in the wounds.

To be fair in hindisight selling Al Habsi was the wrong decision. I think it was done for the right reasons but it hasn't worked out. He's gone to be a top consistent premiership performer and we haven't got one of that quality (yet, because Bogdan could easily be). yep, totally agree with you here...

If he's a myth then I must have been dreaming when I saw him saving Wiggin again on MOTD, 10 point a season man and I think he's totted up 2 thus far this season for the piemen. :)
