Re: Tooling up: The summer 2024 transfer thread

Iles in on something tonight, he's saying that we are after Dembele (ex Celtic, Blackpool loanee) and John McAtee. Strange that he's putting these names out in public - has he been told something by the club ? Both strike me as fairly risky deals. Dembele potentially could be very exciting, but ear...

Good signing, think he'll be more of a Gary Speed (RIP) type than a Kieran Lee or Karl Henry
More Scott Sellars I’d say?
He's gonna get a few yellows.

Re: Tooling up: The summer 2024 transfer thread

Dunno if it's been posted but Scott Arfield is a name now doing the rounds and linked with Bolton.

Derek Clarke has saluted it on twitter too. I know he's a Rangers man so might not be anything in it.

Re: Five Year EFL Deal: Death of the 3pm?

Wrexham and Crawley games on Sky in August &September. Oh good. BW-Wrecsam now Sun 18 Aug @ 3pm. Crawley-BW now Sat 28 Sep @ 12:30pm. Further investigation shows the Crawley game is now the day I do an afternoon gig in a social club - maybe I can watch Wanderers play while we play!! If I can ...

Re: The official Bolton Stream/Radio link thread.

Good news to all our international fans.

Wanderers TV have the rights to stream all games via the Internet.

UK viewers will have to subscribe to the couch, I mean Sky TV if they want to watch the games shown outside the watershed.

Word going around that our increased offer for Randall has been accepted.
£900k is the rumour.

Is he worth this? I genuinely have no idea.

This man will tell Ian Evatt he's being a tit when he needs it.

We've all got them friends that let us know we're idiots when we can be.

I do hope he's the missing piece.

Re: Tooling up: The summer 2024 transfer thread

Something tells me this lad might mean Santos is off somewhere. Could be the old trick of signing the replacement before selling the incumbent. Toal hasn't yet proved he's quite ready to step in. Forino is right-footed so it's more pressure on Gethin's place. Good to get rolling, good to hear we've...

Re: Tooling up: The summer 2024 transfer thread

Nice! That gives us a choice of centre halves from: Santos | Forino | Toal | Johnston | Forrester Wing-backs Williams | JDC With Iredale and Jones also able to fill or deputise for either positions above. I know everyone has their own views on the quality of some of these, but I can't imagine may t...

I agree with you DTM, it's not can't be arsed. I think it's more fundamental. Handling pressure. Needs to be factored into our recruitment thinking, for me. You can have all the skillz, but if you can't bring them to bear, when it counts, you're just a shit spreadsheet number. Recruitment thinking ...

Been thinking back to the semi and the beers on the pitch etc - mentally the prep was wrong from that point.
They'll learn and keep them on ice for Wembley next season.

Again goes back to mentality. Thinking job was done as they'd got past last years hoodoo.

Re: Rising in Wembley's Glow: A Bolton Wanderers Tale - Bolton vs Oxford. 18th May 2024, 4.15pm

Yeah I don’t blame santos on his own - he’s just the captain and he doesn’t behave like one. They all hid yesterday I agree. His reaction after heading the ball away from Baxter for their first speaks volumes. They're always quick to blame one another when it's not going right. A calm leader takes ...

Fair points BWFCi. For me, if I was Sharon, I would let him have a holiday and get him in when he is back and ask him what he would do differently. If the answer is, and I always come back to this, Plan A better, I’d be looking for a new manager. He’s assembled the best players available to do Plan...

Re: Rising in Wembley's Glow: A Bolton Wanderers Tale - Bolton vs Oxford. 18th May 2024, 4.15pm

On the Evatt criticism, I hear what you say regarding players on the pitch to sort it, but I often wonder where the balance is between them taking an "executive decision" (like 2 8's dropping deeper) vs what they've been told to do through the week. It's not like the manager isn't right there next ...
