Re: Freedman out!
So who would you get in? Top 3 choices? 1 Steve Mclaren ( Coaching at QPR ) 2 Fred Rutten ( Unemployed ) 3 Jan Wouters ( Currently coaching Utrecht ) We need to do something different and get someone who is a better coach than manager, as everyone seems to say we have one of the best squads in the ...

Re: Freedman out!
I think it's time for Dougie to go. Sad to say as I think he's a decent chap and very intelligent, but for all that he just can't seem to work out what's wrong with the team and how to go about fixing it. As for a replacement, I've not a clue, but I get the feeling it's going to get worse before it...

Re: Freedman out!
Its when now, not if I still think he'll get yeovil I actually think there is a good manager in there (unlike coyle) but there are too many problems now. We'll roll the dice andhope for the inevitable lift under a new bloke. But the spineless bastards will continue to let him down. PS Gartside shou...

Re: By Hove!
There could be changes, DF has long banged on about having a squad of players for these three-game weeks. I can see the point in going with a less attacking line-up than midweek's: Beckford isn't the most defensive striker (Cravies works harder, Ngog arguably holds the ball up more) and Hall may, f...

Re: Rams to the slaughter?
I thought I'd posted this earlier on, seems it never stuck. Anyway, from what was said on Radio5 last night it seemed like quite a good game. In isolation that's ok, a 2-2 draw isn't a bad result against Derby. However in the current mess we're in it's just another nail in the League One coffin isn...

Re: Bruce or Sam.
As someone who has been a Wanderer mostly through Big Sam's era I'd have to with him. He took us to places we'd never ever dream of, gave us Super Kev, Nolan, Jay Jay, Youri, Dioufy, Campo, Stelios and Fernando sodding Hierro(!)... got us into Europe on a comparative shoestring, innovated off the fi...

Re: Freedman out!
Ngog has talent. He does very little with it though. He often hides, he's feckless in front of goal and if he isn't weak how is it that he gets little injuries or hides when the going gets tough. He leads the line on his own with little or no service. He's feeding off scraps. It's a thankless task....

Re: Freedman out!
I'd also prefer Dougie to come good, but Pulis as much as I hate his style of play would be a decent option for Wanderers. He turned into this high-spending low output manager at Stoke but perhaps he was resting on his laurels a little bit, as he even admitted the team had to change style soon befor...

Re: Positives From Today
Medo's great, yeah - but he and Spearing play the same role, so it's one or the other. I will say this, though; yesterday, Spearing spent a lot of his time with the ball with his shoulders in a permanent shrug, looking for somebody to show themselves for a pass. Medo wouldn't bother, he'd just take...

Re: Positives From Today
Knight was substituted (dougie's seen the light?) Without being there I'd say this must be a positive... or just that he's prepared to try different personnel in defence what with dropping Wheater too. He did that to change to 4-4-2, Ream just dropped back into defence. At least he took Knight off ...

Re: The "Nothing to see here"Transfer thread
The thing is, the fact nobody was interested in the players Dougie wanted to get rid of might hit home to those players in question, that their efforts have been so poor they can't even get moved on despite the club offering them out. Whoever they are (we all have a pretty good idea), they need drop...

Re: The "Nothing to see here"Transfer thread
Maybe time Eddie sells up or looks for other investment That's my thinking... when you look at it there's actually quite a lot of money in the Championship now, and with the new Premier League TV deals each season you'll get the relegated teams being able to spend to get back up alá QPR. Either tha...

Seems more and more like any business we are going to do is in the loan market, as nowt is happening today.

An expensive one despite the quality he would bring. He'll probably find a club in Turkey or somewhere like that where they pay ancient players stupid wages for no reason.IggyTheDawgster wrote:William Gallas is a free agent.

Re: Deadline Day
I've lived through some meh ones, and one or two good ones, but I have never been so disheartened at a transfer window closing day as I have been at this one. :( It is all a bit shit isn't it? But then we've no money to spend at all. Frankly the next few years do not look very appealing as a Bolton...

Re: Dougie Freedman - Ten Months On
I think the basic facts on N'Gog speak a lot too. He scored 9 league goals in 63 league appearances for Liverpool, who in his time at the club finished 2nd, 7th and 6th in the Premier League. He presumably had good service from the likes of Steven Gerrard etc. for the bulk of his playing time there....
