Re: Summer 2020 transfers

Emmanuel and Dodoo I reckon are both good shouts. V unsure about Matthews for the style.. It's going to be a high line and need good, quick decision making on when to come out and he was fecking disastrous at that every single time I saw him last season. Could be coached into him, and add that to t...

Iles reports that Crawford turned down offers from clubs in League One to re-sign with us.
The speed of it is impressive too. Statement of intent. I'd be trying to keep Lowe and Matthews next.

Balls to the moratorium, we want Granite and Hardcastle. None of your Edson Arantes do Nascimento nonsense :)
There's some bloke playing called Max Power. He'll do.

Re: New Manager Thread

All sounds a bit Owen Coyle.  Just hope we can get some players capable of matching the brand. Delighted he didn't shirk the promotion question. Very positive. Nah, he talked about how he re-educated the Barrow fans, pure Douglas! Doesn't sound like he'll be trying to control the game ...

Ran my fastest (or least slow ;) ) 5K sine Dec 2018 this morning, which was nice.
Good work, you'll be skipping up that hill with a beaming smile when parkrun gets going again.

Re: New Manager Thread

I exorcised my away hoodoo at port vale so am allowed again now. Will be getting a season ticket although I'll probably miss a few games wjth a dilapidated house to renovate. More to be supportive at a time like this. They'll be beating down my door to take it off my hands to watch the total footbal...

Re: New Manager Thread

The quotes sound very promising, and I look forward to see him get stuck in. I do share the reticence based on Freedman comparisons though, he's had a very short spell of success and Bolton has become a graveyard of managerial reputations. It has to turn at some point and he seems at least as likely...

Re: The athletics/running thread

I'm one of the last to complain about hot weather, but it's tough running right now. Did 17 miles on my girlfriend's shit bike yesterday (because the car is fecked) to work and back then a hill session in the evening. Did me in. A hilly path through woodland at the back of the windmill on Wimbledon ...

Re: The athletics/running thread

I'm following the grow old gracefully YouTube upload. Seems to be working for me. Mind you, for some reason I'm the lightest I've been in 30 years. No one believed me when I said I'm just a social drinker. Can't be doing with that drinking indoors malarky. I love it. Socially and solo. Sat up til 4...

Re: The athletics/running thread

After getting well into it and at one point not missing a run for 46 consecutive days, I can't be arsed any more. Not quite sure why but a combination of aches and pains and not seeing any real improvement despite doing loads and losing so much weight I look like I've been dug up. fecking running! ...

Re: The Keith Hill out thread

Macc stayed up.in spite of the crash. In some ways they are a success. I'm all for giving a new way a go. Hill was a disaster. I'd like to be sympathetic to the situation he's been put in but I've never disliked a Bolton manager more. And the lockdown break hasn't diminished my dislike. It's a perso...

Re: The athletics/running thread

I've just run for 46 consecutive days, finally decided to have a rest due to mounting aches and pain, and as Pru put it, trying not to be a dick! Was cramming in with a view to a late Bolton marathon entry when lockdown started but wouldn't have been properly fit. Now hoping to keep up a decent volu...

Re: We'll meet you outside

Met plenty off here, referred to by BP's daughter as his 'football boyfriend'. My matchgoing mate likes to tell people about my 'internet men with their weird made up names'. (He hasn't met GG so offence there!) First meet up was with Bruce at a gig. We'd been chatting on here before realising that ...

Re: What are you watching tonight?

Blackadder 1 is awful, barely watchable. It might as well be a totally different programme. The other 3 are all excellent. I'd just about to with Bruce on the order: 3-4-2------------------------1. Agreed, the first is poor. Surprised that it was successful enough to continue. Except for the Witchs...

Re: What are you watching tonight?

This Country is so, so fecking good. Bruce's endorsement too means I'll give this a try. I think it was you who recommended the excellent Nighty Night, still one of the funniest things I've ever seen. You did blot your copybook with Fleabag though. I sat through a series and a half of that over rat...
