Re: The Olympics

Genuinely Bruce, if you enjoyed it this morning you should seek out some more cycling away from the Tour de France. Spring classics are awesome and on brutal courses on different terrains. Also a good example of the complexity of tactics this morning. WVA was by far the strongest rider in the race ...

Re: The Olympics

Athletics easily my favourite events but generally I'll watch anything GB are competing in apart from horsey shite and synchronised swimming . Every time though I do try to catch a bit of the handball. A fast paced sport, that's massive in parts of Europe but has just never taken off here. Remember...

Re: The athletics/running thread

Very small parkrun. Just 59 people. Never been before but met a couple of nates there and went for breakfast so was good. Next week will be doing crewe or Chester on my way to the camping trip in Wales.

Re: The athletics/running thread

Normality will seem a lot closer tomorrow with frickley country parkrun and a filthy breakfast. In keeping with tradition I'll be having a skinful in Chapel Allerton tonight. No doubt running a sub 20 min 5k. You utter Cnut! I didn't. And remained sober due to Mrs LE not feeling well after her vacc...

Centre halves nodding a few corners in would be a huge help. Even half of what the Wheevers managed.

Re: Returning to the ground

As for shopping and masks I agree entirely but they only work if everyone wears them and we sadly have a lot of incredibly selfish individuals in our society. Most of whom do it to prove a point; quite what that is I know not unless it falls under the "Nobody is telling me what to do" mantra, in wh...

Re: What are you watching tonight?

I know nowt about F1 and care less. But I do often wonder why Brits love serial (but incredibly dull) Roger Federer yet loathe their own incredible (but also dull) Lewis Hamilton. Is it cos he's a boy made good and supports positive causes? Or just because we don't like people of our own nationalit...

That does look nice. Had a nice weekend in Eskdale recently, need to get to the lakes more often. 2 weeks camping in Wales coming up. St davids. Sounds idyllic.

Re: What are you watching tonight?

80% of the time, F1 is pretty dull, but when it's good, oh my. What a race. What a driver. 100% of the time it's a dull procession which would benefit greatly from having Fairy Liquid squirted on to the corners. And making them drive Reliant Robins. Tedious shite. And LH is a reet wanker. In fact I...

Re: Returning to the ground

Domestic vaccine proofs are an intrusion and imposition too far in my opinion. Vaccine travel documents are perfectly reasonable and have been in place for years.

Re: Returning to the ground

I see Rangers are restricted to 17000 for their first game. With infection rates rising and hospitalisations creeping up too, are we going to see further restrictions on attendances? Hope I'm wrong but I just can't see us getting a decent allocation for our first couple of away games at this rate. ...

Re: CLUB BUSINESS/SUNDRIES ETC.

I don't wish to be rude but I'm not much interested in those with big opinions and little knowledge. DSB's a different kettle of fish. Even though finance may not be his specialist subject, I would be interested to know if he had learned anything he hadn't previously grasped. It's jolly decent of y...

Re: CLUB BUSINESS/SUNDRIES ETC.

I'd advise those with the ability to do so to nip this in the bud and bring our visitor's stay here to a quick end. As Harry Genshaw has pointed out, this partictular poster has repeated the same routine on a number of forums - vague allusions to something revelatory without ever expanding on what ...

I'm not due at any more pre-season games until Blackburn, so I'm hoping that somebody else picks up the review baton! Nightmare! Anyone got tickets for tomorrow? Any idea why the allocation was so low too? Less than Bury AFC got apparently. Off to Barrow the week after with Bijou Bob and Burnden Pa...

Tell you what we've just started watching - Fleabag. It's very good, and absolutely piss funny in parts. :D
Brilliant in every way. Best thing I've seen for years.
