Re: Worthy's better class of transfer thread
At risk of leading this away from the 'banter' that seems to be developing - the club is losing approx £4m per year (with the owners collectively picking up the slack). So far we are in their debt to about £12m. They've mentioned this on the BBS forum and have said that we operate in 2-3 year cycle...

Re: Worthy's better class of transfer thread
But if we do buy Glenn Murray for the £1million reported release clause will you come on again then? Good luck with the promotion push and if Zaha wants to go then get as much as you can for him. I'm afraid this £1m release clause is a bit of a myth. If it did exist surely Norwich wouldn't b...

Re: Worthy's better class of transfer thread
Our owners currently sub the club to the tune of £5m per year to ensure we break even. :conf: In which case you don't really break even, no? You're actually losing £5mil a year, yes? At risk of leading this away from the 'banter' that seems to be developing - the club is losing approx £4m per year ...

Re: Worthy's better class of transfer thread
Fair point. I was as shocked as any at the move - but his subsequent press soundbytes (admittedly for your audience rather than ours) certainly made me re-evaluate him as the club legend that he was often branded about as being. What did Freedman actually say that irked you all so? Because in the i...

Re: Worthy's better class of transfer thread
Chuckling at the memory of Palace fans who initially said there was no way Dougie Freedman would leave Palace to join us. Fair point. I was as shocked as any at the move - but his subsequent press soundbytes (admittedly for your audience rather than ours) certainly made me re-evaluate him as the cl...

Re: Worthy's better class of transfer thread
Apologies, didn't know we were signing Glenn Murray from Palace. That's because you're not. Can't see GM wanting to play for Dougie again if he's currently in the 'defensive' phase of his management philosophy. When you signed Murray was you expecting him to score loads of goals To be honest I knew...

Villa have been ...

Re: Dougie Freedman - New Manager
Surely its an argument, at least with Bolton as we stand, that this perceivement of Dougie playing 'negative football' may purely come down to us not having any meaningful attacking capability? For whatever reason neither Ngog/Davies gel as a front two and when either plays as a lone striker (espec...

Re: Dougie Freedman - New Manager
If the board decided on a project, I think most fans would be right behind them. But they've not; they've decided on a two pronged agenda...a 2 points per game minimum and an immediate return to the Premier League. I think the first is now mathematically impossible and the second laughingly optimis...

Re: Dougie Freedman - New Manager
He is capable of working through the hard stuff to improve the club overall and if you had, say, a three year project to be looking at getting back into the Prem I’d say he is an ideal candidate. However, it seems you need / want that sooner and I am not sure DF is the man for that task. The concer...

SE25. Please can you link the Palace forum post that you mentioned? Wouldn't mind having a nosey... Cheers There are a few on cpfc.org as shown above. The one that linked me here was this one: http://www.holmesdale.net/page.php?id=106&tid=128123" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; I tend...

Palace fan here in peace. This thread was linked onto one of the Palace forums and having thread through a chunk of it a lot of it makes familiar reading whilst I feel there are other bits that perhaps are a little wide of the mark. One thing that perhaps you guys may not be aware of was that whils...
