Re: Sam Allardyce - Stay or Go?

Interesting line from that article: "Football is a game of passion, and part of every fan would die if the game were reduced to a soulless set of calculations." As effective as big sam may have been for Bolton, he is passionately loathed by a lot of hammers, and this is their complaint. It's also in...

Re: Holden on to nothing?

ACL are incredibly difficult injuries because of where they are located and the lack of blood flow to them. A friend of mine tore his at age 17 and had it repaired. several years later the other one went, mostly from imbalances in trying to regain strength after the other healed. He's 35 now and don...

Re: Holden on to nothing?

From Stu's twitter page an hour ago:

He's a very difficult person not to like

definitely a knee problem, and he looks crushed on the bench. understandably so. hope it's just a tweak and nothing serious.

Re: STU-SA

Stu has made steady progress in each of his games. it will be interesting to see whether he gets the start in the final. He should be in fine form by the time he returns to bolton. Of course the last 10-15% of fitness is always the hardest to recover, and he's still not there yet. His rate of improv...

Re: Stu Holden was fantastic tonight for the U.S

90 minutes was a big psychological milestone, and he didn't look knackered by the end. his play was much more consistent last night by keeping things simpler. all positive signs.

Re: Stu Holden was fantastic tonight for the U.S

Stu looked a bit off the pace last night, and cuba were mostly fielding amateurs. I didn't see the guatemala game, but he has a ways to go even to get up to championship standard. Granted his supporting cast weren't much either, but the playing time he's getting will certainly be nothing but a benef...

Re: 4 Games to go

It has been a fun ride watching this team in the championship, and I rue the fact that there aren't more televised games stateside. I can't imagine what the atmosphere must be like in person right now. good luck to you lot.

Re: Away at Mick McCarthy's Super Ipswich Town

What is the point in bringing on a striker in the 90th minute? should've been done 15 minutes ago.

Re: Biggest game of the season - Brighton @ Home

Don't see this as a must win. You'll be fine with a tie, and not even lost without a result. However, those stats for Bristol v. Brighton are correct zero shots, so could be there for the taking. Managing fatigue over the next two months will be the biggest trick for all teams. Bolton had a lot of g...

Re: Derby away

Derby have four (4) centre backs out injured and their first choice left back on suspension. Suffice to say, their back line will be in disarray. They are there for the taking.

Re: Biggest club in the North East: Sunderland Replay

hello lads I lurk around these boards every now and again to check up on Holden. I won't pretend I'm a massive fan of the club. just an old yank who follows our lads. fwiw, I am hoping to see you make a push for the playoffs this year, and I'm delighting in your boys
