Re: FV Recruitment Model

The stats/analytics led us to sign Gary Speed for pittance when everyone assumed he was just going to phase out at Newcastle. I'm all for it, if implemented correctly.

Re: Onwards and Downwards: 2020 transfer speculation thread.

Quite the day. Couldn’t post much as I was starting work at a new place (freelance) but boy did I have to keep checking. Add in Hobbs and that’s 10 outfielders added, one for each position in a 4-4-2: Bunney-Wright-Hobbs-Emmanuel, Buckley-Crawford-Bridcutt-Verlinden, O’Grady-Murphy. Obviously some ...

Re: Onwards and Downwards: 2020 transfer speculation thread.

Andy Taylor on a reduced 1 year deal is likely to be out of the question? I think it unlikely. Read Wheater’s (excellent) interview with Iles. They’re only offering short deals, no extension options, no bonuses. And from the sounds of it, uncompetitive wages. A jolly good interview - his revelation...

Re: Love thy Neighbour...Bolton V Blackburn Sat 6th Oct.17-30

At this point i'd rather a kid from the youth set up was in there to make the mistakes Grounds is making game-in game-out, because at least the little chuffer will learn from it unlike our current birmingham loanee. ye godz! I'd be even temped to play Little at left back. Any word on his current exi...

Re: A stroll in the countryside? - Stoke City (A) 02/10/18

I'm not realy sure Ozzy is the answer to our attacking midfield woes when we have a total, pure clogger up top. You could swap in David Silva for him and we'd barely do any better... Square pegs in round holes going forward because the front man isn't much of a threat when running the channels, or, ...

Who is this inept clown we've got playing a left-back? Woeful to the max.

Re: Reconstruction time again: the summer 2018 transfer thread

You got me. Throw out the 10 points from 12 formula, drop two members of the back four and throw the kid who barely knows the names of the rest of the guys in the squad into the midfield engine room. We're ready. Nice one.

Do you play Championship/Football Manager much?

Re: Racism in English Football

Hi everyone, I am currently conducting a research report into racism in English football and whether the rise of social media has caused a rise in racism. I would be very grateful if you could take a couple of minutes of your time to fill out this short survey for me please? https://www.surveymonke...

Re: Reconstruction time again: the summer 2018 transfer thread

Grounds, Wilson and our new Everton loanee who hasn't even played a minute with his new teammates (or been in the building 24 hours) are all in our current best 11? :? They've all combined for about 0 minutes of Championship football during which we've accumulated 10 points from a possible 12. LMAO.

A poor shot because he has to check his run and wait for the ball to trundle into the correct spot. Biology and Physics conspiring against him. Take a touch to get it out of his feet and put his foot thru it and the defenders get back to mop up (two are almost in his line already as it is - such was...

I know Buckley gets a lot of stick, especially on twittersphere, but that slotted pass from Big JMag (00:54) does him no favours whatsoever.

Manager Phil Parkinson added: “We are pleased with the signing of Luke. He’s a player with plenty of Championship experience and we are looking forward to working with him.”

Seems a bit weak, has Parky been saddled with a bargain he didn't want?
I really woudn't read too much into it...

Scapegoat by some Leeds fans Revered as a decent player by others Hard working midfielder Sounds like Pratley! 5 years younger is the key. Got resale value. And Pratley, Henry, Derik, Kirchoff, Karacan all needed replacing... A huge hole in our depth chart, if not filled at least addressed. I could...

For those of you who slate Scottish football (and that tends to be many), this guy was nowhere near good enough for Aberdeen.
Some players are late bloomers. His Aberdeen spell was four years ago.
