Re: Gartside, please just shut up!!!!

and made Zat captain and gave a new contract to Wheats. Also has Ream and Mills on the books who whilst clearly DF'd rather move on, we paid good money for and even recently have proved can step in and give decent performances. As I've said before, if you were Eddie wouldn't you be a little sceptica...

Re: Can one player really make all the difference?

Apparently we've spent in up front fees £1.3M this summer. Spearing only happened because he really wanted to come here and therefore a deal could be struck on our terms. As much as we should have signed a centre half, was there one that would make Dawsondifference available for such a low amount? ...

Re: Gartside, please just shut up!!!!

We've been letting a whole host of contracts run down in the last few years. If someone can dig out DSB's last (or maybe last but one, erm, one) we'll see that the majority of out of contract/high earners have been dispatched. Do I think Knight, for example, will go this summer? Almost certainly, I...

Re: Gartside, please just shut up!!!!

Im not arguing the fact that its better to do your business early, but when DF stated that we needed some more incomings after the Blackburn game then if there were no funds available, why let him bid for Kightly and Ramage only to find we couldnt afford them??? Did DF not know there were no funds ...

Re: Gartside, please just shut up!!!!

don't you think he has a point though. isn't it usually regarded as better to get you business done early, rather than last minute panic

the whole way the media demands a spectacle for deadline day and fans get the huff if their team doesn't do it, is pure x factor

Re: Dougie Freedman - Ten Months On

not sure I'm getting what the debate is here but Isn't a managers job to make the best of the resources available. Won't individuals always make mistakes and the trick (managers job) is to set the team up to minimise the impact of any individual making a mistake. Whether he needs a coach for the def...

Re: The "Nothing to see here"Transfer thread

don't think it hurts if you have an ex manager who seemingly wants to give you lots of money for players he used to manage. papers saying martinez has agreed £12.5m purchase of mccarthy.
how many ex wigan players have everton got. where did wigan finish ?!
is martinez whelans secret agent

Re: The "Nothing to see here"Transfer thread

N'Gog couldn't score in the premierleague either for Liverpool or Bolton stats say he ended his Liverpool career at the end of the 2010–11 season with a record of 19 goals in 94 games. Given many of these were probably subs appearance as Torres was in his pomp, suggests otherwise. Never an out and ...

Re: The "Nothing to see here"Transfer thread

last year of contract, suspect we won't get more than £2m if that for Ngog. Quite what you can get for that we await to see - probably that lad from Peterboro Interesting how people are buying into the idea that you can be too good for a lesser league. Would make it an interesting close season if Do...

@reluctantnicko: @Samtheman687 No bust up. Very reasoned point. Some just can't learn this level or been around too long. Dougie a shrewd boy. :conf: You know, I've re-read this several times, and it still doesn't say anything at all as far as I can see. No doubt this particular quatrain will be in...

Re: The "Nothing to see here"Transfer thread

If 3 go then we have to bring 3 in. We've got a short squad as it is. Mills to Seasiders has been suggested by the Oracle in The People today Mills is probably the most obvious. If I had to hazard a guess I would say Eaves, Vela or Odelusi would be potential names to go out. That wouldn't solve muc...

Re: Away to Blurrrghburn

I'm not looking for a managerial change.... yet. As I see it with DF/ LL we've got two managers anyway, one with pretty vast experience. If they can't see it and know what needs sorting and how to do it, I will be gobsmacked

Re: Away to Blurrrghburn

[quote="Tombwfc"]Saying some players don't want to be here is straight out of page one of the 'How To Cover Your Own Arse: Football Manager's Edition'. It's like when a new boss takes over and says that all the players are unfit to buy himself some time. All the players that played yesterday are one...
