Re: Should I(E) stay or should I(E) go?
I voted go but it won't be the worst thing in the world if he stays. Since we apparently needed to find £20m if we went up, perhaps we're better off in a small pond for now. The biggest reason for sticking with him right now, is the very real possibility any replacement would be much worse. When Nea...

Re: Rising in Wembley's Glow: A Bolton Wanderers Tale - Bolton vs Oxford. 18th May 2024, 4.15pm
It was fairly clear as early as 10-15 minutes that we'd started badly and whatever we were attempting to do, wasn't working.
Given how often we've frozen, choked or been outfought in previous high profile games, I'm unconvinced that Evatt is capable of learning from this most recent one.

Re: Should I(E) stay or should I(E) go?
Emotions are still running high at present and I'm still seriously fecked off but trying to look at it calmly; Pros - Season on season improvement in terms of league position. A healthy points total this year that would have seen us promoted in other years. Attractive football more often than not. R...

Re: Rising in Wembley's Glow: A Bolton Wanderers Tale - Bolton vs Oxford. 18th May 2024, 4.15pm
Since he's improved our league position year on year, he's worthy of being kept on but is the approach or anything going to change? Will we still choke in the big games and the local derbies? No thanks re Duff. Good coach but dour shite his teams serve up time and again. Ainsworth? One trick pony at...

I'm not in the Evatt out camp yet but if he walks, & I think he might, I hope we'll be giving Alex Neill a look. We've known all season that they're a talented bunch but with no bollocks between em. 5 or 10 minutes in and you knew we were fecked.

Re: Rising in Wembley's Glow: A Bolton Wanderers Tale - Bolton vs Oxford. 18th May 2024, 4.15pm
I'm not buying the Oxford shut down our midfield angle at all, I saw Thomason, Sheehan, Maghoma, even Ogbeta in plenty of space asking for the ball but it never came. The defense wouldn't take the risk of passing them the ball, so it just went back and forth then hoofed to no-one when it got too em...

Re: Tonight's Football
Saints denied a clear penalty. No VAR in the semis but operational for the final. If they're brave enough to overrule the ref, that would definitely have been given.

Re: Rising in Wembley's Glow: A Bolton Wanderers Tale - Bolton vs Oxford. 18th May 2024, 4.15pm
I’m nervous but determined to go and enjoy the day. I really hope everyone else on here who is going enjoys it as do those who aren’t. I’m not ashamed to admit the last few months have been personally very tough for family reasons I won’t go into and it’s taken a big toll on me personally. Whatever...

Re: Rising in Wembley's Glow: A Bolton Wanderers Tale - Bolton vs Oxford. 18th May 2024, 4.15pm
I doubt anything will beat the 1977/78 season for me. I was young, had never seen Bolton in the top division, we'd just missed out the year before so very happy days - we'd have got 89 points that season under 3 points a win. There were a couple of games, we had more than 50,000 on. I enjoyed that ...

Re: Rising in Wembley's Glow: A Bolton Wanderers Tale - Bolton vs Oxford. 18th May 2024, 4.15pm
I've really enjoyed this season. Some great games, goals, occasions etc. Feck ups v Wigan, disgraceful reffing performance at Blackpool and a general feeling that we're a better side than our points tally, aside - there haven't been many better. The whole memory though, and whether its been a succes...

We got there. That's all that matters. It was an absolute privilege to be in the best atmosphere I've ever experienced at the 'bok. Amazing support. Went a bit quiet that last 20! But yeah was mainly up, good support. Can recall a few similar. Ipswich/Bobic game, couple against Arsenal. Atle...

Re: Up Winter Hill Bah't hat. Home to Barnsley, Tues 7th May 8-0 clock
I'm already feeling a bit sick about tomorrow. I know we've got what it takes to beat em but a typical Bolton scenario sees us go a goal down at the very least. From a supporters point of view L1 has been great. We dominate most games we've played, play some lovely stuff at times and scored a shedlo...

Re: Up Winter Hill Bah't hat. Home to Barnsley, Tues 7th May 8-0 clock
Connell's got an edge to him but Cosgrove is the type of w*nker I thought had gone out of the game, a bloke who deliberately tries to injure an opponent. I'm convinced, and so was Toal, that he was deliberately trying to get Santos out of that game and the 2nd leg. Anyway, I expect a little more con...

Re: No nonsense, Ronseal type of deal. Barnsley Away. 3rd May 2024 19.30pm
That waterfall chant is an absolute banger I’m not up on chants - is it original or have we stolen it from another set of fans? Did raise a smile when I heard it during the game. Man U had the same tune that started "Ole's at the wheel". It lasted as long as he did. Point of order on the lyrics Bor...

No less than we deserved. Typical Bolton performance in a lot of ways. Should have been out of sight, and would have been if Maghomas effort had gone in, then suddenly we're hanging on and their tails and the crowds up. Great move for the Dempsey chance though and we get our just reward.

Well, the big days here. We're Bolton, and Peterborough/Wednesday last year should confirm that nowts decided tonight, whatever happens. Sadly struck out, again, on trying to get tickets for this one, so a nervy day at work followed by watching on the box from behind a cushion. Time to step up boys...
