Re: No nonsense, Ronseal type of deal. Barnsley Away. 3rd May 2024 19.30pm
Our away form over the season and our record at Barnsley, suggests a draw is as much as we should be expecting. I'd definitely take that right now because I fancy us to beat them at home. Point of order….we’ve won away at Barnsley more recently than we’ve beaten them at home…. Fair. I'm of a vintag...

Ah well. I'd rather play Barnsley tbh than a resurgent Oxford, buzzing about their late play off place.
It's been an entertaining season. A few more twists and turns yet.

A laboured performance but a win against surely the worst team to come here this season?
All I can see in the play offs is a narrow away defeat then a draw at home. Whoever the opposition are. Stick a fork in us. We're done.

Re: Breaking pots... Home v Port Vale Sat 20th Apr. 3-0'Clock.
I'd be tempted to leave Santos out too. Give those 3 another chance to redeem themselves. Morley to start at DM too. Charles and Dan to get another 20 or so minutes off the bench. Moore's been a disaster at Vale. He's always come across as a decent man and a reasonable manager but I was shocked at t...

We played well today and another hard luck story but ultimately, we're probably the 3rd best team in the division and where we should be. The 3rd best don't always win the play offs but hopefully this year, they do.

Can see it being tight. Hopefully, we come out on the right side with a narrow victory.

Evatt "It's not over. This side is capable of winning its last 7 games"
I really don't think it is. The problems that plagued us last year, not creating enough or in some cases not turning up in the biggest matches, have not been resolved.

Re: Not exactly a Derby. Away to The Rams, Sat 16th March 3-0'clock.
The Allardyce team with 14 away wins was definitely one I trusted. They were so effective at dismissing opponents and making the most of a fairly limited squad and finances, compared to the two who went up automatically. That said, I was out of the country for much of that season, so viewing it remo...

Re: Not exactly a Derby. Away to The Rams, Sat 16th March 3-0'clock.
I haven't updated the top 6 v top 6 game in a few weeks but I suspect our draw at Barnsley keeps us second in that (albeit pending). Everyone feels that way. Well yes, we've still to travel Derby, Stevenage and Peterborough so plenty of chances to lay down markers. As well as top6 v top6, I include...

Re: Not exactly a Derby. Away to The Rams, Sat 16th March 3-0'clock.
I love this team and love the manager, however I'm still unconvinced about us in games like this. A draw would be great and sadly, I think the best we can hope for. 1-3 loss. Arguably we would've said the same earlier in the season before playing Oxford away. Might just be selection bias as to why ...

Re: Ox on the box, c*cks on the blocks? Oxford (H) Tue 12 Mar, 8pm
Bodvarrsson was absolutely outstanding tonight. Covered absolutely every blade. There is a myth that he’s not a grafter but that was exposed tonight. He and Collins look like they might be clicking. Midfield was rolls Royce like and the wingbacks had absolute worldies. Stretched them and got behind...

Re: Ox on the box, c*cks on the blocks? Oxford (H) Tue 12 Mar, 8pm
I expect JDB will start, with Collins playing off him, and the shape will remain the same. I'd be half tempted to flood the midfield and have Morley in there with Paris as the furthest forward and Collins playing as a false 9. Apologies if I've got the vernacular wrong, and he'd really be a trequari...

Re: This Exe is on fire: Exeter (A) Sat 9 Mar, 3pm
The fans at games are outstanding. We have a huge away following. We had two sides at Exeter. Wigan we took 4200 and I heard no complaints screamed just a lot of frustration and disappointment. Excellent post Worthy and this ^ from Insane had me nodding in agreement. In terms of numbers and the bac...

Re: This Exe is on fire: Exeter (A) Sat 9 Mar, 3pm
Coleman, despite being badly at fault for their first, actually kept us in the game with 2 stunning saves in the 2nd half. Toal and Iredale seem to be under instructions to only pass sideways to Rico, who then puts his foot on it until the opposition are back behind the ball, then tw*ats it upfield ...

We can't cope when teams press us and can't cope when they do a low block. Ultimately, we can't cope when playing away to a half decent side.

Re: Pied and Prejudice, Wigan (A) 27/02/04.
"Evatt out" is ridiculous but I can't easily dismiss those fans with rational concerns that we're going to miss a golden opportunity to get out of this division. This wasn't a one off defeat on the back of a mid season poor performance. We could all pretty much see this happening and I'd not be bett...
