Re: " Competition time" - Middlesbrough (H) 16/04/16

Looking at the positives, it was a 2-1 loss against the probable champions of the division. If we were still in the relegation battle (with a proper chance) we'd have taken heart from that result.

Re: Which muppet can we appoint next?

Has anyone got a link to Browny's "Come get me plea"? Can't find it online anywhere Not quite "Come and get me"; more like "There are good reasons why it might be me". https://twitter.com/footballon5/status/718894069275996160" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Interesting to see the rep...

Re: BW Supporters Trust

See, I'm in 2 minds about the trust. I like the idea of it but not how it's been handled to date. As far as I'm concerned the steering committee are there to set it up administratively and nothing else. Future direction has bugger all to do with them. Asking whether they want a place on the board, ...

Re: Which muppet can we appoint next?

With the fact that we seem to be happy to be taking our time to make this new appointment, I decided to take a look at the length of time between previous appointments. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Bolton_Wanderers_F.C._managers" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Interestingly, ...

Re: The breaking News thread...

Just pay the bloody 100k for Spearing! What's the point? With the Bristol result I'd say we're nailed on for relegation now (although personally I thought we were done around the New Year), his appearance for or omission from the team will not change that fact. And given his high wages he's unlikel...

Re: The breaking News thread...

Yeah very interesting Worthy. Cheers for delving into it in far greater detail than I did / could have. Out of interest, how long would it actually take to complete that process? Either CVA or placing 'ourselves' into admin. The impression I got following the proceedings was that Davies would've tri...

Re: The breaking News thread...

I don't think administration was the judge's decision to make. Davies had his fingers on the administration button ready in-case the SS deal was going to fall through. If we had filed for administration I don't think the judge would've then been able to rule us as insolvent.

Re: Which muppet can we appoint next?

We need someone who can help stabilize the club. We're currently on a huge downward trajectory and we need to halt that before we can even talk about promotion to the Championship let alone Premiership aspirations. I think Phil Brown would do a good job for us in terms of stability. Though it certai...

Re: Sports Shield - New Owners (Probably)

One of those three parties will almost certainly be the supporters trust. They would never have survived the scandal of the profit of supporters' investment going to Eddie Davies' pockets.

But post administration, you can bet they'd be chomping at the bit again.

Re: Sports Shield - New Owners (Probably)

I'm not sure why there's so much focus on what the last minute changes were... I'd assume it was the revelation that Davies would be receiving a proportion of sponsorship / tv revenue (condition being in Championship or Premiership if I recall) and the fact that there would be a 15 million loan to E...

Re: The run-in

IF we are to survive then we HAVE to win some away games. Starting at Leeds. Looking at the remaining games, our easiest opponents are away. Unfortunately for us and our wonderful away record. To stand half a chance, we probably need to win at least 2 or 3 of our away games. Leeds, Bristol, Fulham a...

The depressing thing is how we're actually playing well against these teams which should be beating us, but then we keep throwing it away.
