Re: No nonsense, Ronseal type of deal. Barnsley Away. 3rd May 2024 19.30pm
There was no foul, but it didn't stop their cheat of a keeper leaping back into the net to try to con the ref (who thankfully didn't fall for said con...)

Re: No nonsense, Ronseal type of deal. Barnsley Away. 3rd May 2024 19.30pm
Weirdly not the greatest performance, but strangely effective. Great to see Charles back up to full speed - hopefully hitting form again at just the right time. Baxter doing what Baxter seems superb at: doing nothing for most of the game and the pulling superb saves out of the bag. Jerome doing what...

Re: The Nostradamus file....
By that thinking any season irrespective of what happens is a success. But every season bolton wanderers are in league one should be considered a failure by anyone who is wanting to see this club get back to where it should. ................. I get some people don’t care. They’d be happy surviving ...

Re: Season 23/24 Predictions
Baxter as well don't forget - basically the whole spine of the team out for considerable chunks. I know other teams have had their injuries, but none of us can compare how each absentee impacts each team. I'm as disappointed as everyone that we haven't already secured 2nd, but as you say, a failure ...

Re: The Nostradamus file....
I hear you, but do we know that is the case? IE & the board are clear on their objectives to be promoted, and clearly its in the business plan, but they will have a plan B which might involve staying in league 1 for another season (hopefully only 1!!). I might have missed it, and apologies if I have...

Re: The Nostradamus file....
Not being promoted is disastrous. I'd be happy (or very unhappy...) to be proved wrong, but I don't think it is disastrous at all. My prediction would be that not being promoted basically means we start next season in League 1 and try to get promoted then, whilst also trying to progress in the cups...

Re: The Nostradamus file....
But we don't know that. Carlisle beat us, at home. Their players are essentially playing for contracts and a place next season. Stranger things have happened....**

Re: The Nostradamus file....
Aye, had a week off, got a week off afterwards. Play the strongest team without taking any risks. If Derby are 3-0 up at half time you can always take people off then. This. A million percent. It's effing sport. Play your strongest team all the time and try to win every game you play, or just don't...

Re: Breaking pots... Home v Port Vale Sat 20th Apr. 3-0'Clock.
Can we get a good luck coach as well do you think?
I know there's a strong argument for making your own luck and all that, and we can be very profligate in front of goal, but it also seems like we never get the benefit of the random bounce or deflection and ost 50:50s end up going against us!!!

In a weirdly double negative way, I hope we get the chance to find out that he isn't a championship striker (if you know what I mean ..)

Yup. That's where I'm at. Just wanted to get in there with some positive praise for.him before the usual.diafribe of shit comes his way. Also noticeable how close he seems with the rest of the team - not unlike our 37 year old, seems a good egg to have around the team. I'd love him to be a 20 goal a...

Re: Breaking pots... Home v Port Vale Sat 20th Apr. 3-0'Clock.
Lets face it, we're play off bound. I struggle to see a reality where: - Derby lose to Carlisle at home - Bolton beat Peterborough away - Overturn a 4 goal deficit Might be better to do the Barnsley Semi and meet Lincoln in the final given the form of the teams. Don t see the problem there. It'll b...

Re: Breaking pots... Home v Port Vale Sat 20th Apr. 3-0'Clock.
Every credit to big Dan - looked good when he came on I don’t know what you were watching but I admire the optimism. Well, I watched a big strong forward come on after a long injury lay off and scrap for every ball and hold it up well. I know you don't like him, but I thought he looked decent...
