Sorry to learn that, TW; I hope you have the best afternoon you can.

Post match, can someone please share with the group as to what, if any, are the covid restrictions? I for one am at a loss.

Cheers.
Zero covid restrictions apparent.

Dapot has been immense. Long time since I've seen 1 player boss a game as much. Bakayoko is bloody quick too

Re: creeeeeeeekeeeeeet

Well, I spent yesterday at OT for the women's and mens matches, and it was an amazing day out. Absolutely loved every second of it, as did the many many kids who were there (and who this is largely aimed at).

Re: CLUB BUSINESS/SUNDRIES ETC.

Jesus wept. Stop referring to FGR/Derby - they are not us and its entirely irrelevant what they have or haven't done, which again, none of us know. Please also stop asking what's in the 8.1m 7.3m - none of us know. I have no better insight into this than anyone else, you included. I can piece togeth...

Re: CLUB BUSINESS/SUNDRIES ETC.

Not necessarily. I mean sure, its a big number, but I don't think any of us can form a view on whether its a lot or not without knowing the detail behind the headline figures and how much it normally costs to run a group of companies such as this in the circumstances they have had to operate. I gues...

Re: CLUB BUSINESS/SUNDRIES ETC.

Ah, thanks for your not-in-any-way-condescending advice. I was wondering what to do with my day, so thanks for the offer. I am however intrigued by your question. Intrigued, and surprised quite frankly, as for someone with 50 years of accountancy experience I would have thought you could answer this...

Re: CLUB BUSINESS/SUNDRIES ETC.

Bolton Bonce is one of the most prolific contributors to the Bolton Nuts forum. He's an amusing and engaging chap but one of his principle beliefs is that you cannot believe anything you read in accounts and that you couldn't trust any accountant as far as you could throw them. Like Royal Cheltenha...

Gudnib, are you the same chap who got the WanderersWays (i think?) forum closed down when the takeover was being discussed?

Re: CLUB BUSINESS/SUNDRIES ETC.

At the risk of giving you a further platform to spout off Gudnib, can I ask why you are so skeptical of some of the numbers in the first place?? As such an experienced and seasoned accountant, you'll no doubt have noticed that the accounts were given a clean audit report by the auditors, and in prov...

Re: European Finals.

I'm with you on this one. Potential for Saka to be swapped out for one of Grealish or Sancho? (although unfortunately the biggest impact Grealish had on the Denmark game to to nullify Sterling's attacks when he swapped sides). Think Grealish will be well fired up after the subbed-sub thing.............

Re: European Finals.

Still don't buy it. Do you really think the England team will change their mentality/setup etc on the back of the Danish paper's viking joke??? I certainly don't think anyone in the setup will find it anything other than the quite clever and funny joke that it is. Maybe they'll be shown it with a co...

Re: European Finals.

But the Croatians said this sort of stuff did motivate them. So I'm not sure your conclusions are correct. I expect the mirror back page will be used by the Danes. Of course they said that, cos they were invited to an interview and were probably asked if it did, so they said yes, probably in a prov...

Re: European Finals.

I think the tournament for England and the media has been relatively low key....until today. The whole triumphalent 'its coming home' stuff is just starting to creep towards 'winding the opposition up' territory for me. We really should learn - there is a tough game tonight and whilst England are f...

It helped that Simon gave away the final penalty by diving far too early
He's a very strange keeper to have in such a good side isn't he? He got away with 2 or 3 stupid errors last night, and the own goal t'other day was diabolical.

I'm no fan of De Gea, but surely he is no worse than Simon?

See, I'm the opposite. I've been going down to London most weeks since we were allowed to (stuck entirely at home prior to that). I've benefitted massively from this. Yes there's a cost for travel, but you can work on the train, and I don't think there is any substitute for being in meetings in pers...

Re: European Finals.

Doesn’t matter how many great players you have if you don’t have the spirit and desire. France lacked those. I said the only way they were beaten is their own lack of real desire and that’s what has happened. Big shout out to the sh1t-houses that are the French team: only about 1 member of the squa...

Re: The Politics Thread

Vaccine rollout I would say is a fairly big bonus, as it allowed us to go nap and hoard them all for ourselves, and push through apprvoals quicker. [i was a keen remainer BTW, but given how cr@p life has been under lockdown, I would consider that if the above is the only positive then its a pretty b...

Re: Opening day

don't know Derby's specific details, but marrying up my accountancy knowledge with the EFL statement, its all to do with how you account for players. Years ago, if you bought a player for 10m that was a cost of 10m in that year's profit and loss account. Equally, if you sold one for 20m, then you go...

Re: Your England XI

Czech are a far better team than they were in qualifying all those months ago when we thumped them 5-0. A 1-0 win in that respect can't be seen as anything other than a decent solid performance. Critically as well, we come out of the groups without confidence being dented in any way, egos in tact, n...
