Re: Pirates but not from Penzance. Away to Bristol Sat 6th Apr. 3-0'clock

I live in the Bath end of Bristol and went to watch the Gas against Carlisle a few weeks back. It was a turgid affair with very little quality on display. Carlisle went ahead in that game but seemed incapable of keeping a clean sheet, so the Gas went on to win 2-1. But if the quality is the same the...

Not to be prematurely positive (because I know that won’t do in these parts) but if Portsmouth do beat Derby, then of course their goal difference reduces accordingly. Aaaaand we’d be back to a game in hand. That could easily cause quite a swing in the GD column in a short amount of time

It was so casual and so incisive that's it's difficult to almost get excited. They made it look too easy. And against a team fighting at the top too. Superb.

Nah. Get them all off now and protect them. Put RIco up front.

Re: Ox on the box, c*cks on the blocks? Oxford (H) Tue 12 Mar, 8pm

SO important that we win this one with all the other top 7 sides winning. Eh? Two of 'em aren't playing till tomorrow (when they play each other) and one's getting caked at ours...? Apart from them obviously. But Derby, Barnsley, Pompey and Blackpool (now in 7th) all winning. But that aside, what a...

I also suspect they won't play as narrow second half, so chances out wide will be less frequent for us.
In that case the spaces are elsewhere...
And if that space is for Sheehan then, all is well with the world.

Re: Ox on the box, c*cks on the blocks? Oxford (H) Tue 12 Mar, 8pm

Got to be careful in transition in the second half. Oxford looked dangerous when they had the ball in those turnovers. I also suspect they won't play as narrow second half, so chances out wide will be less frequent for us. Either way, it's a big ask for them to even get the ball frequently enough to...

Yep. Dives across the near post, left arm saves the ball and knocks it out of play.

An irrelevance now, but could have been another key decision go against us in a season littered with them.

Re: Raising the Bar: Barnsley (A), Tue 5 Mar 7.45pm

WOW! What a game. My heart is racing and I'm shaking still. Initial impressions - I disagree that we were ever outplayed. They could take a lot more risks when they went 1 up and we always had to protect the back. I thought it was crazy to leave George on and take off Dempsey. But I think it just ab...

Re: Pied and Prejudice, Wigan (A) 27/02/04.

I not sure I buy the big game bottler tag. 4-0 at Wembley last year. Not forgetting the semi-final before that. This season we've beaten Derby, Blackpool. Taken Luton to a replay (after they started to turn things around in the league). And I don't think there's any empirical evidence that the playe...

Nothing to be scared of here. If we weren't next door neighbours we'd be "expecting" to win this one. Midtable, 2 wins from 6.

Jordan Jones a possible injury would be a big loss.

Re: From a Pompey fan what’s your view on Boltons chance for remaining few games?

I could have put this in one of many threads. But trying to explain it to an outside perspective feels like useful context. We've all spent a lost of time soul searching since Saturday. Is the system right? Are the players right? Is rotation killing us? Or is it simply that our reserve keepers aren'...
