Re: Eagles has played 100 times for BWFC
It wasn't as if he was dragging their deefenders out with him though. He was left pretty much in acres of space for the ful 90 as if Blackpool thought 'If he gets it we'll sort it then.' I like Eagles. He's a match winner but we need to be adaptable and take advantage of things as they happen. If he...

Re: Looks like Blackpool have been 'analysing' our players..
How was their goal not ruled out for off-side? A great finish but does the striker not go to head it but misses. Surely he is stood in Lonergan's line of sight? It was. Then Blackpool protested and the ref went to the linesman. Then it was given. Then we protested to the linesman and the ref. And i...

Re: Are we a good set of supporters?
Tell you where the atmosphere is always good. Underneath the ESL during the games. It always annoys me (it doesn't really) when the tv cameras show people 'leaving' after 15 minutes as their side go 2-0 down. 'Look at those wankers' Clive Tyldsley says. 'fecking scum the lot of 'em'. No, what they'r...

Re: Are we a good set of supporters?
It was funny to see OT emptying like everyone was in a rush to get their boats back to Dublin or flight to Korea. Why after years of Fergie Time wins anyone would leave there early amazes me. On that note I think it's not only that the opposition aren't scared of United anymore neither are the refs....

Re: Are we a good set of supporters?
We've always been cynical ... we sre as a team. But you need something to cheer and to believe in. Go back to the Ian Greaves and the Bruce Rioch days and support was almost unquestioning. Even the Todd times were mostly well supported. The Sam days were, typical of the man, "us against the World" ...

Re: Are we a good set of supporters?
The fans stuck by Owen Coyle even though we could all see the writing was on the wall. They didn't boo (much), I never heard sustained 'Coyle Out' and I didn't see anyone running on the pitch to tear up his season ticket (or Tufty Club Membership) and throw it in the face of a bemused programme sell...

Re: Looks like Blackpool have been 'analysing' our players..
Second half though and Dougle reverted to type and tried to kill the game. Basically inviting them on to us and it was down to ca combination of luck, Lonergan and a bit of wayward shooting that ensured the result. Blackpool stepped up 10 yards and compressed the game. It had nothing to do with us ...

Re: Eagles has played 100 times for BWFC
I watched him on Saturday, especially in the second half where he cut a lone figure on the touchline. The Blackpool defence gave him acres of space to play in and yet he hugged the touchline like he was tied to it. He put his hand up for passes from people on the other side of the pitch but I never ...

Re: Looks like Blackpool have been 'analysing' our players..
First half was good. Zat spraying the ball about, Medo not getting cluttered up with another midfielder playing the ball about and the midfield and forwards actually looking forward. Apart from a chance they had straight from the kick off their goal was the only time they'd seen the ball in our pena...

[quote="Bruce Rioja ....Including Lennie Lawrence? Does anyone know just what in the name of the blue blazes it is that he actually does? :conf:[/quote] I think he's Dougie's Eileen Drewery. Re: Looks like Blackpool have been 'analysing' our players..
Is this the match thread then? I'd have gone with something like 'Is the Blackpool Belle about to Toll for Dougie?' or summat. Anyway. Listening to his comments the other day about the u-21 being shite makes me think he'll go for a pretty much as close to 'as you were' you'll ever get with Freedman....

I'd forgot about that goal at Watford. Yes that was fantastic. A massive turn out by the fans and celebrations like we'd won the World Cup.

Re: Freedman out!
why on earth would he come back here for a tenth of the salary he was on Well, his Mrs refuses to move from their pad on Grange Park, which has recently been extended to the size of Yorkshire, so you never know! ;) My dad worked on that extension. Anyway, I don't think BSA should come back. It wasn...

Re: The Debt.
My mate bought a leather sofa on a credit card. When him and his wife got divorced she kept the sofa and he kept the debt. He took out one of those loans that consolidate all you debts into one massive cripplilng debt. And added a bit on for a holiday, new clothes and a car. When he couldn't affored...

Re: Paul Comstive
I'm not a fan of minutes applause but I know Burnley held one for him, did we? Wonder if the Pie Eaters did too? Compo was one of those players the programme notes would always unflatteringly describe as a 'journeyman player'. He wasn't the best - he wasn't the worst but he was always committed and ...

Re: Freedman out!
I think there are a lot of us casting one eye back to the last time we went on the slide. Quick turn over of 'promising managers' with 'fine playing pedigrees' or former players, a team built of players who were either coming to the end of their career or not able to cut it at the highest level, clu...

Re: Freedman out!
He's giving the boo boys the bullets to fire isn't he? Throwing N'Gog on at the death isn't a 'tactic' it's just another frantic sign of desperation. From what I could gather it sounded like a good game but yet again we're relying on Dougie time to salvage a single point at home. Luckily it paid off...

So what we're looking for is a manager who's currently on his arse but also 'top drawer' A manager in the bottom three of the Prem who can lead us to the glory land of....the bottom three of the Prem. If that's the case we should have stuck with Knobson. I fully support Vincent Tan in everything he ...

Re: Freedman out!
I couldn't listen to the game yesterday and only followed it on Twitter. From what was being said we struggled in the first half and had Andy Lonergan to thank for keeping the score at 0-0 Admittedly Barnsley are riding high in the league with an impressive attacking form and...oh hang on a tick. We...
