Re: Freedman out!

While Saturday's result wouldn't normally have bothered me - I've not been bothered about results for about 10 weeks now - and I probably would have enjoyed the excitement of the comeback I have a special place reserved in my heart for those Brummie Bastards and so the last gasp equaliser felt like ...

Re: Freedman out!

He's Scottish, he's 'pragmatic', he's 'doing a great job', he's 'up and coming', he's dour, he doesn't mind firing off club legends and surrounds himself with the tat he's had at previous clubs. He playes players out of position, he plays them one week and drops them the next and then plays them aga...

Re: Who's that coming up the hill....

go to your local corn wholesaler and ask him for some Indian Corn like what you heard about in a song at a football match to feed your piggy backing chicken on and he'll laugh in your face. Don't you mean 'Savoury Corn?' he'll say wiping away the tears. Look, I'm right - I know I'm right. I'm always...

Re: Who's that coming up the hill....

Mate's wife couldn't work out why everyone was singing.... 'We live in Bolton we do. 'We live in Bolton we do. 'We live in Bolton we do... 'Oh Bolton we live in you.' I'm sure it was only the ones who DID in the town that we're actually allowed to sing this. My favourite all time song mash-up appear...

Re: Who's that coming up the hill....

'I breed Chickens in my back yard and feed 'em on savoury corn. I've always had that down as; "We keep chickens in our back yard and feed 'em on Indian corn". You idiot. We once caught a mate singing.... 'Oh me lads, you should have seen 'em running. Ask 'em what the fuss was about....' He didn't g...

Re: Who's that coming up the hill....

My favourite has to be... 'I breed Chickens in my back yard and feed 'em on savoury corn. But one's a bugger for giving the other a piggy back over the wal. 'Cos we're the barmy Bolton army nah-nah'll-nah-nah!' Plus you'll struggle to match the lyrical genius of The Yorkshire Ripper's My Dad. Lennon...

Re: Clash-in (with) the Lattic.

I've always said that a last minute equaliser is more demoralising to the opposition than a last minute winner. There's more of an emotional swing when you lose 3 points rather than losing 1. For the Pie Eaters to equalise right at the death and then think they'd won in injury time only to come away...

Re: Clash-in (with) the Lattic.

Saw the highlights on FLS and it looked like a good game. While it would be nice to derail a few sides promotion hopes or send a side or two down that's all we can really hope for now isn't it? You can't get more exciting than the ending and Boggers save made me do one of those 'out loud laughs' you...

Re: Your England XI

After some terrible displays this season capped by a dreadful game on Sunday there is no way Phil Jones should be anywhere near this squad. Welbeck can get tae too. And Carrick. In fact all of 'em. Including Rooney who is a totally natural hairs breadth away from getting sent off and mouthing off to...

Re: Freedman out!

Just reading in the BN that Dougie asked Trotter to do a role similar to 'Dannsy' Don't we have a player who can do a role exactly like Dannsy already? His name is Darren Pratley..ha ha only kidding, god I'm so zany at times, classic bantz that, absolute classic bantz. Seriously though it's like Dou...

Re: Freedman out!

When I saw the team sheet I was not surprised at all to see 4 changes to the team. Mason with this ickle poorly earwy wearwy gets a place on the bench at Derby but Mavies gets a day off completely (I'm aware that not all infections are the same and that it might have hit him harder but y'know what I...

Re: Ram it up 'em?! - Derby (A) 11/3/14

Seems like Dougie's recent Manager of the Month award winning performances have back fired on him. If we were losing every game then we'd have been happy with a point but because we're now the new Barcelona it's suddenly a disappointing result. We've got to be realistic here. From the snippets on 5L...

Re: To Elland back! - Leeds (A) 8/3/14

I've been to Elland Road three times. Once to see Great Brtain v Australia and the Leeds 'fans' were fighting with Wakefield fans. To see England play Sweden in that Umbro Cup nonsense where the Leeds fans spent the full 90mins alternating between booing Gary Pallister and chanting 'Y'bowwwwa' (who ...

Re: Freedman out!

I agree with Bobo about the Holden injury and the Wigan game as crucial moments in the history of Owen Coyle. Holden was arguably the best midfield in the league at the time and if ever there was a case of, perhaps not a 'one man team' but of one player who brought everything together it was him. Of...

Re: Freedman out!

i know Dougie does give interviews however after recent games while Radio Manchester have managed to broadcast the manager's post match thoughts from every other game Dougle's ramblings have been noticiable by their absence. See also The Football League Show. Now, whether he's given an interview and...

Re: Freedman out!

Of course he's a football genius this morning. Heard him on Radio Manchester after the game which was a surprise in itself because he's normally nowhere to be found after a defeat. Talking about how he's not changed his plan because he's been unable to change his plan and it's all under extreme circ...

Re: Freedman out!

Arguing about 'who was the shitest' isn't really going to get us anywhere but it shows how bad things have gone. On the subject of Coyle I know a lad who was in the youth team at Motherwell when Coyle played there under McLeish. He said that no matter what anyone did in training they could never bre...

Re: Freedman out!

I don't think there's a single person who thinks Bolton have the right to be sitting pretty at the top of this league. Yer Leicester Cities of this world, yer Birmingham Cities of this world, yer Middlesboroughses of this world, yer Derby Counties of this world and yer Blackburn Rovers of this world...
