Re: Should I(E) stay or should I(E) go?
Iles has to work with what he has - it’s the worst time of year for him to be fair! Hence why we only got some of the post match interviews in drive and drabs. Aye. And we're lucky to get what we do. I remember working a summer job at Eagley Mills during the Rioch era. Every lunchtime me and my mat...

Re: Should I(E) stay or should I(E) go?
Nixon hinting there's still a decision to be made around the manager - although I suspect he's as in the dark as a miner wihout a Davy lamp.

Re: Should I(E) stay or should I(E) go?
Yeah, I think we can get promoted with Evatt this coming season.
If I didn't believe that I wouldn't have voted "Stay".

Re: Tooling up: The summer 2024 transfer thread
Aye. The statement it would make might not be a unifying one.
Only a rumour for now anyway.

Re: Tooling up: The summer 2024 transfer thread
Nixon being asked to verify whether we are interested in Tyler Bindon, a teenage Reading centre-back. Won the fan site’s YPoTY award at a canter. Described as a good ball player, you’ll be astonished to hear.

Re: Tooling up: The summer 2024 transfer thread
Hoping we weren't bothered about Ogbeta because we have a better option, although with Williams and Iredale (and possibly Ashworth if we do convert that loan to permanent as threatened) it might not be seen as a priority. It is to me though... Also interesting that he's signed for a second-tier team...

Re: Should I(E) stay or should I(E) go?
Perusing this week's issue of The New European last night as part of the sporadic but ongoing attempts to fill my head with Not Wanderers, I read Simon Barnes' Champions League final preview and one paragraph, about #narrative, made me think of this forum. This is how the fabulous fabled fable-telli...

Re: Should I(E) stay or should I(E) go?
Too often this lot walk off without having given everything for a win. That has to change. Well, they run off at half-time... which, if they've hidden previously, looks like running away... As you say, you can have captains all over the pitch. The armband-wearer should set an example but increasing...

Re: Should I(E) stay or should I(E) go?
Idea-floating rather than soapboxing, but is Tomo the "answer within the ranks" to the need for a tougher 6? I'm talking here about an 'extra' 6 to sit alongside Sheehan, although equally he could be a straight swap to stiffen the midfield without changing formation. I don't think many of us doubt t...

Re: Should I(E) stay or should I(E) go?
If we looked at another team coming out of League Two with our same finances we'd never have them down as inevitably destined for the top two. Not in a month of sundays. Everyone would agree it'd take stellar work to get them into the hunt for the autos. This is one of the things that makes this co...

Re: Should I(E) stay or should I(E) go?
It's been mentioned a few times that Derby are in an embargo and therefore we can somehow be said to outspend them. Firstly, I don't think that's true as a matter of fact. BBC reported it was lifted last May, they signed Kane Wilson (mhmm) after "an undisclosed agreement" last summer, and signed th...

Re: Should I(E) stay or should I(E) go?
It felt odd at the time that we spent money on Dan - freebie maybe, but we paid. In a page-filling round-up on this last deadline day the BN said it was a £250k fee. He's on a three-year contract so to make that cost up to seven figures he'd need to be on £5kpw - not impossible, but again it would b...

Re: Should I(E) stay or should I(E) go?
I thought Dan was £300,000. Still a lot of money, but nowhere near seven figures.

Re: Our formation
As I watched it from a decent view on the telly (although I won't feel half the jinx, next outing (maybe it's HG :-) ) - it was crystal clear what was going on - maybe Ian should have contemplated another red card, for a better view , or given they knew exactly what Oxford were going to do, come up...

Re: Should I(E) stay or should I(E) go?
I think most of us would have got pretty close on the "released" list. In about January! (JDB's extension terms notwithstanding, he was only the second most talked about three letter acronym beginning with "J" for the most part) Oh for sure. Declan John never likely to be extended... I wonder if Je...

Re: Tooling up: The summer 2024 transfer thread
Forest Green, freshly relegated to non-league, sign Liam Sercombe and Sean Long, freshly released from Cheltenham. I had time for FGR at one stage, but the club (and especially the owner) has become increasingly insufferable - culminating in the appointment of Troy Deeney. Delighted to see them gon...

Re: Should I(E) stay or should I(E) go?
I suspect they may not be communicating because they may not know. It's the fans rather than the club that have imposed a "Go away and think about what you've done" but I do think Evatt will be spending at least some time wondering whether to jump. A week is a generous amount of time, even in the fo...
