Re: Wham! Bam! Thank You Ma'am! - Accrington Away - Saturday 11th Dec 2021 @ 3pm

Edit hahahaha I’m a muppet: https://www.bwfc.co.uk/news/2021/december/senior-back-in-the-fold/ TBF to you Dibs, that’s not what was reported last week - but I’m delighted that he’s back and would be minded to put him in on Saturday, given the paucity of alternatives. Obviously IDK if he’s up to it ...

Is there any chance of someone else at right back? Gordon’s not even a good enough left back. Maybe Baptiste there with Aimson, Johnston and John. Try and keep it as a solid as possible. I understand what you’re saying but I no longer think Baptiste equates to increased solidity. He is now creaking...

Re: Loan Watch

Evatt confirms that Senior will come back after Saturday - but Edwards will stay out. https://www.theboltonnews.co.uk/sport/19770735.bolton-wanderers-set-bring-key-midfielder-back-accrington-stanley/ Liam will be staying on loan at Southport for the time being. The one position we are covered at the...

Fascinating clash between a famous old Lancastrian name who'd be happy to survive in the third tier... and Accy  Also, the team that last Saturday hammered 5-1 the team who hammered us 3-0 last night. <nervously fingers shirt collar> Hope against hope that MJ is back and fit, but even if so...

Re: Take your Mac to Fleetwood. Away 07-12-21. 7-45.

Goals from last night are a proper defensive sh!tshow. . HNnXKTCF3TI . First goal: p!ss-easy overload for unmarked overlapping full-back to send in an uncontested cross for a striker who gets there faster than Santos (behind a who-in-the-what-now Aimson). Second goal: As Baptiste watches on from som...

Re: January 2022 Transfer Thread

As a side-issue, say we do finish sixth-bottom, how many fans would be content with that? DSB, I'd be absolutely delighted with a sixth bottom finish , and to be fair with this shower of choirboys it would be something of an achievement to manage 6th bottom. Good to know, Bertie – if somewhat under...

Re: January 2022 Transfer Thread

As a side-issue, say we do finish sixth-bottom, how many fans would be content with that? :oyea: I'd take that in a heartbeat. All too recently I genuinely didn't think I'd have a club to support. A couple of seasons later I will more than happily snatch your hand off for being in a reasonably robu...

Re: January 2022 Transfer Thread

Can I just check: whilst not necessarily disagreeing with most of these posts, where on God's green earth do people think we are going to get these players from? I mean, even if there were a First XI standard of players actually available in January, what makes you think we've got enough cash to te...

Re: January 2022 Transfer Thread

I think you can make an effective case for replacing every position barring Dapo (whose head has dropped), MJ, and John and Jones (assuming he is near fitness). The players in the team at the moment are just not good enough. I think that's a bit dramatic. I'd say most of our players have shown they...

Re: Loan Watch

So Edwards and Senior can, and I presume will, be recalled today? If that's the case then both will be in the squad for Saturday, and there must be a good chance Senior goes straight into the starting lineup. Per this report last week they're still on loan this coming weekend. https://www.thebolton...

Well seeing this thread made me sick a little. Where is the quote from Barnetto?
Football finance expert Kieran Maguire, on Twitter. Interesting that it’s disappeared. Maybe he’s just tidied up the typo.

EDIT Nope, still there: https://twitter.com/kieranmaguire/statu ... 74338?s=21

Re: January 2022 Transfer Thread

We haven’t scored away in the league since September - Charlton, FFS. It’s a big problem. Defence is bigger. But we’re registering too many zeroes.

I wish I could reveal all to supporters and tell you all of my transfer plans in January, who we are looking at, and who we are trying to sign. I guess then it would be a different conversation. - Evatt, once again talking about Politic. https://www.theboltonnews.co.uk/sport/19768797.ian-evatt-expl...

I'm not sure having a go at your own fans after an inept performance is the fighting spirit we need 😁

Re: January 2022 Transfer Thread

Nsiala would add quantity but not quality IMO. I always thought he was positionally a liability, particularly (if memory serves) from crossfield balls aimed at the half-spaces between him and Josh Emmanuel.

Re: Take your Mac to Fleetwood. Away 07-12-21. 7-45.

The sort of unremittingly crap performance some have been expecting for a month, since the Sheehan and Bakayoko injuries were confirmed. Weirdly, they didn’t come: we battled at Wycombe and lost on margins, we easily beat Donny, we shared four goals with Cheltenham, we beat this lot in the Sherpa si...

Re: Plymouth match

Ryan Lowe leaves Plymouth to manage Preston. Interesting. Good manager. Done well. And that feels like a good appointment for Preston. Ideal potentially. Yeah, I've thought before that he would make a good manager for us at some point; that'll now be informed by his adventures up the road. But the ...
