Re: 2018/19 Fixtures...

https://the-wanderer.co.uk/boards/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=26808 See the original, official, fixtures thread to find out. Fair enough. There's absolutely no case there if they threaten to sue anyone, unless they have a layout they own and people directly copy that. Even then, they'd struggle to win a su...

What are they claiming as IP? A particular lay-out or just any information about fixtures?

Re: Reconstruction time again: the summer 2018 transfer thread

Just a point about Baldwin, he actually played 33 games in the league last season, with two goals, with 42 games and three goals in all competitions. Wikipedia player pages sometimes misleadingly represent the picture at a certain date, in this case 16th September 2017. 33 league games over a seaso...

Re: Reconstruction time again: the summer 2018 transfer thread

Seems like Flanagan's move to Rangers is pretty much a done deal. Makes James Tavernier available. 5 years younger than Little and probably marginally better. I know nothing of Tavernier but Gerrard was on the gogglebox this week saying that if he doesn't want players they'll soon be gone. I'm assu...

Re: Reconstruction time again: the summer 2018 transfer thread

It's true that Posh don't tend to let players leave on free if they have any value, but they don't appear to have bothered offering him a new contract and that worries me. If we sign him, I will view it as a risk unless we hear something to convince me otherwise. Posh tend to have 3-4 very good pla...

Re: Reconstruction time again: the summer 2018 transfer thread

If Posh were selling for £250k they'd be cutting their losses. He showed up for about half a million (a lot for Posh) a few years ago and was expected to make them a lot of money. He's also captain, which makes it even more strange. Posh are usually set on making at least a small profit on any trans...

Re: Reconstruction time again: the summer 2018 transfer thread

Rhodes is a player who doesn't fit into the squad we currently have, but if we add players he could be an asset. It's not his finishing ability that sets him apart at this level (or used to), it's his movement and positioning in and around the 18 yard box. He's scored goals in a two, but also as a l...

Re: Reconstruction time again: the summer 2018 transfer thread

I don't really get why Rhodes gets so much stick. He's scored goals for some pretty crap sides and he's been used as a scapegoat for the failings of other players. He's not some world class player, but he's no less a team player than someone like Alf. I've no problem with a striker who is all about ...

Re: Reconstruction time again: the summer 2018 transfer thread

I will say that if the links we have have any substance to them at all then we are aiming higher than I'd expected and that's pleasing. Chungy, Onuoha, Flanagan etc are very good players at this level and if we really are chasing those kinds of signings then we're not just planning to scrape by agai...

Re: Reconstruction time again: the summer 2018 transfer thread

Chungy is more than I hope for. I'd love to have him back and sign Sammy up, but I'm not holding out hope of either.

If we go into next season with Ozzy, Chungy and Sammy as the creative trio then I'll be a very, very happy bunny.

Re: Reconstruction time again: the summer 2018 transfer thread

Flanagan would be a surprise. I know he has serious baggage and an injury history, but he's generally regarded as a decent Premier League player and you'd think someone who could outbid us would make an offer. Rangers are interested, if we believe the papers.

Re: First Team vs Squad

It's a tricky one, for me. I agree there's a lack of quality in the few players we have left, but the thing that concerns me more is that the players we have at the moment don't look like a capable team as a collective. We're slow at the back, which means we have to sit deeper or get picked off. In ...

Re: Reconstruction time again: the summer 2018 transfer thread

Onuoho would inject some much needed pace into the back four. Not at all surprised he's closer to joining Hull, who will be able to pay him a lot more than we can. Would they? Parachutes, yes, but they're actively shedding high earners. I mean, they may offer more than us, but they're hardly shower...

First Team vs Squad

I'm wondering what people think of the lads we have under contract for next season in terms of first 11 vs squad players. Obviously we're pretty short on numbers right now, but how many first team positions do people think we have nailed down for next season and how many do we need to make signings ...

Re: Reconstruction time again: the summer 2018 transfer thread

4k a week of 16k? Bloody hell, they knew we were desperate. He's really not a bad goalkeeper, as he showed on loan at Charlton. No idea what went on with him here (aside from playing behind an awful defence), but his face doesn't fit and he's not shown the form we need. He's worth a lot more than 4k...

Re: Reconstruction time again: the summer 2018 transfer thread

There was an FA investigation a few years ago for some homophobic tweets. 2 managers have dropped him over his lack of fitness. There was an incident at Reading where he said he was injured but there was doubt around it. On top of that there's the disciplinary record. People seem to think he has abi...

Re: Reconstruction time again: the summer 2018 transfer thread

Akpan has known fitness and attitude issues, which is presumably why he's at Burton in the first place. He'd be a risk. Thought there must be something like this. Any of that Burton lot any good? How about Tom Naylor (26)? Honestly not a clue. I don't think their fans were too impressed with the Ch...
