Re: All the young Dudes.. Home to Aston Villa Under 21's.Tues 8th Oct 17-45.

I love these fixtures, precisely because it affords us a chance to see the younger lads. Lads like Inwood can come in and for them it's a genuinely meaningful game. They can test themselves against some of the best young players in the country and look to impress the manager. It's a game we can just...

No point opining that you'd be amazing against Burnley and Sunderland if you can't beat Shrews at home.

Re: The unguarded moment. At Home to Shrewsbury Sat Oct 54th 3'0 clock

I struggle to see the benefit of fill the box or zonal. If you're hauling them all back. Get them paired off and winning their 1 v 1. We run a mix of zonal and man. The idea is to free up Santos and a couple of others to attack the ball and still have enough (because we have 10 back) to man mark.

Re: The unguarded moment. At Home to Shrewsbury Sat Oct 54th 3'0 clock

Can't disagree, the old "corner to the edge" we've seen on repeat, for a while. I'm thinking they're directed to occupy space rather than pick up actual people. I think (only think, don't know) that they looked at the numbers and found that teams that bring 10 back to pack the box concede fewer goa...

Re: The unguarded moment. At Home to Shrewsbury Sat Oct 54th 3'0 clock

Not a good result. Blame to be shared by players and manager. Every team is now targeting the edge of our box on corners. It's free goals. We still had easily enough chances to win, but you can't demand we score at least 3 every game. Special mention to the linesman on the far side from the dugouts....

Wanderers confirm Forino out for two months.
Now saying "3 or 4 months", so probably at least 4.

Re: The unguarded moment. At Home to Shrewsbury Sat Oct 54th 3'0 clock

We just need to go out and get after them from the off, as we have been since the Huddersfield debacle. That needs to be the attitude in every game and if we get at Shrewsbury we will mince them. Any of the front 4 will be fine. I think it'll be Vic and Charles again, but I've no issue with any of t...

Re: A boot up The Cobblers? Northampton away, Tues Oct first 19-45.

I don't think anyone is suggesting we'd do anything other than go to Brum to win. The aim should be to win every game, regardless of the competition. That's the point of the sport.

Don’t care about giving anyone a ‘proper game’ we need to beat them.
You can't have an away win against this Birmingham side as the minimum acceptable outcome.

We all want to beat them, but a point would be a really good result.

Just need to keep winning.
All we can do. We need to win the next 2 (3) and then give Birmingham a proper game. If we can do that then we can go into the Posh game with something to play for.

After a truly, genuinely awful start to the season...we are now 4 points off 2nd with 38 games left to play.

If it's 2-0 we probably don't concede those. Generally a good performance, but you have to stay switched on and it's a good lesson at a time we can afford it.

If a new manager had come in and produced this little run of performances we'd be thrilled. Fair play to Ian. Long my it continue.

You're off your head. He's been top. Running it again in these conditions, great ball for Tommo. Always picking up the pieces.
He's been excellent, yeah. His defensive read in their last build up was top class.
