Re: Rising in Wembley's Glow: A Bolton Wanderers Tale - Bolton vs Oxford. 18th May 2024, 4.15pm

Words from the captain. To go from almost dropping out of the game to the Championship in 4 seasons would be a massive personal achievement for him.

Re: Rising in Wembley's Glow: A Bolton Wanderers Tale - Bolton vs Oxford. 18th May 2024, 4.15pm

Okay. Tickets physically in hand makes the whole thing feel more imminent - even if they're just print-outs. Due for a merch delivery from the shop tomorrow, which will ramp it up another notch and allow the kids to decorate the car. Nerves stating a little now. The Tinpot didn't mean much for the f...

Re: Rising in Wembley's Glow: A Bolton Wanderers Tale - Bolton vs Oxford. 18th May 2024, 4.15pm

Do we actually get a cut? I thought it all goes to EFL/Wembley and we just get a token match fee EDIT: Just read the clubs share 50% of the ticket sales equally between them. Regardless of who sold what.. Yup. Plus merch, TV, sponsorship etc. The club is on track to make ~£1.5m from the play-offs.

Re: Tooling up: The summer 2024 transfer thread

He looked a real talent when he came through, but haven't seen him in a while. The worrying thing is the fairly universal talk of physically struggling. That could just be versus prem players who are monsters (witness 37 year old Ashley young destroying us last year), but it's so important for us. ...

Might be time to contact the ticket office already, Gun :D

Re: Tooling up: The summer 2024 transfer thread

Leicester forum reaction seems to coalesce around "maybe a lower-half Champo / upper League One player". Most Boro and Blades fans would share that view. Reading through those Leicester pages you get the image of your usual footy forum. Mostly normal folk, mixed in with a load of people who only ex...

Re: Tooling up: The summer 2024 transfer thread

Our first Twitter rumour would be an ambitious one.

A 22-year-old with ~60 Premier League appearances and 10 games in Europe.

Odd getting these ones coming out when there's still football to be played

Re: Tooling up: The summer 2024 transfer thread

One goal and one assist in 24 second-tier appearances (albeit 16 of them as sub, not always in the middle of the front 3, and most importantly all for a plummeting Barnsley). Also turns 30 next May. Not sure he'd top my list. He's one a lot of managers will look at and think "I can get a song out o...

Re: Tooling up: The summer 2024 transfer thread

I'm fairly local to Huddersfield. The reaction of their fans has been, shall we say, muted?

Obviously they're on a really low ebb right now, but this hasn't moved the needle much and it'll be interested to see how that translates in terms of patience.

Re: Rising in Wembley's Glow: A Bolton Wanderers Tale - Bolton vs Oxford. 18th May 2024, 4.15pm

Really not too fussed TBH...I mean we commanded the support on Tuesday who were noisy and supportive - still got beat! :-) I mean we've sold 26? So only have another 10k... Gone through 28,000 now. Lots of people still trying to figure out the logistics of getting there before they buy tickets, so ...

Re: Tooling up: The summer 2024 transfer thread

Interested to see Barnsley's retained/released list when it emerges. Per Transfermarkt, among those falling out of contact are Devante Cole, Nicky Cadden, Herbie Kane and Jordan Williams. Jamie McCart's also been listed by Rotherham, whence he was loaned to the Tykes... Maybe they'll all go to Hudd...

You can't directly swap, but the club said they'd definitely fully refund any tickets if I wanted to move some of my party to other seats.

So you'd need to cancel the first set of seats and rebook the new block.

Re: Rising in Wembley's Glow: A Bolton Wanderers Tale - Bolton vs Oxford. 18th May 2024, 4.15pm

I'm currently debating whether to buy tickets now or hold off in the hope we open up another block and I can get seats closer to the front. Does anyone have an opinion on the likelihood of us getting another block now? Sounds like additional blocks are very unlikely, but if it's just you you might ...

^^ Not quite. Had the Derby game ended as a draw, they'd still be on 90 and we'd have been 89...i mean 5npoints in front is pretty decent on a "fine margins call"...
Fair correction. :oyea:

Re: Tonight's Football

I wonder if the fee is increased if they win the league next week. We're due more if he plays 'x' games and we have a sell-on, going off the talk in Germany. He's caught the eye of a couple of Bundesliga clubs, but them going up probably means he won't move this summer. If he does alright and they ...

Re: Tooling up: The summer 2024 transfer thread

It's also reacting to events. 64 of the 72 EFL teams have finished their seasons and are announcing their released/retained lists, and among them will be players we might target. Natural to speculate thereupon (and it fills the nervous days). If we stay down, it's more about who we might lose, but ...

Cheers. Been a tad busy with work. I find it easier to step back from online stuff as most of my work is on computer and it's too easy to lose an hour or two chatting away. Twitter isn't too bad, but anything long-form is a killer.

They may well do. I said I would not lose sleep over them leaving. Imo, we can do better. Dan has potential but his touch is so poor. We will have to see.
Hopefully we get to find out what a Championship window looks like for us :pissed:

I agree. I don't think I'd lose much sleep over losing JBD, Dan, Victor and Jerome if we did go up. But it's all about who we replace them with
Evatt loves Vic and he called Dan "one of the most talented players at the club", so I think you may find they stay unless there's a big bid for Vic.

Re: Tooling up: The summer 2024 transfer thread

I mean maybe add whatever Bod and Cam are on, combined together, and get thee to t'Queen's Ead. You shouldn't need Vardy numbers. :-) That gives us 5, which we'd likely need to cover injuries, anyhow. If Dion/Collins/Vic are our main 3, then we can take our chances on #5 and whether they have a bet...
