Re: FV Recruitment Model

I wonder if we perhaps shouldn't get too caught up in thinking we're going to become 'Brentford Mk 2'. I might be wrong, but I interpreted the changes to the Academy set-up largely as bringing it in line with the level we're currently at and the budgets we'll be working with. We've adopted a model ...

Re: COVID-19/20 season

If things did get that bleak, I think we'd at least ensure Politic's wages are paid. If only to protect an asset.

Re: COVID-19/20 season

I think the football calendar will prove to be quite flexible; it's just a matter of how soon clubs can get back training and playing matches behind closed doors. The problem I can't immediately think of a proper solution to is the expiry of the players' contracts one. The common sense approach wou...

Re: Brewer's Droop - Burton Albion (A), 7:45pm, Tuesday, 10/03/20

I see young Politic was in tears yesterday because he lost his man for their second goal. I mean you'd rather he didn't lose the man but good to see he cares and a nice antidote to the ideas about "modern footballers". I was a bit alarmed by that. What is the culture behind the scenes if a young la...

I'll probably be in the minority on this, but - white shirt, white shorts > white shirt, navy blue shorts.

Just me, Sam and Don then. :D

You, Sam Allardyce and Don Revie, among others...

What I've taken from this is that I'm destined to manage England (before departing in disgrace).

For the first time in a long time, Hamilton looks like the player who made his debut at Rochdale. Having Crawford back makes a huge differences as well. And I like the look of Delaney.

Bryan started in midfield the last time he played, although that was at home and Hamilton was on the bench.

Re: Don the tin helmets and Plough on regardless, AFCW (A) 7/3/2020 3pm9

And whilst we've had to contend with issues around signings, injuries and the like KH wasn't saying his squad wasn't good enough pre-Accrington was he? Yes, he was. The idea that the form is purely down to "circumstances" is nonsense. I'm not sure anyone's arguing that point, just that it's not as ...

Re: Don the tin helmets and Plough on regardless, AFCW (A) 7/3/2020 3pm9

Well I thought we played ok ae:) We were easily the better team in the first half. About even in the 2nd. I do accept that a (another).season of shite has significantly lowered my expectations. My main concern today was our support, the quietest we've been away all season with very few staying to c...

Talk to people In the town, in the pubs they think Hill's a Mike Bassett character - seriously no one has a good word to say about him. I talk to plenty of people in the town, nearly all of whom think Hill's time here is destined for failure. I find it hard to disagree, and he's not my cup of tea a...

So, a good turn out from the forum today! And I was shown a photo of Bruce (whom I've never met): didn't realise George Clooney was a wanderer. :D But, the football was terrible, although, strangely, I'm inclined not to blame Hillcroft. If all you have are players who can't pass, control a ball, be...

Re: Another fine mess Stanley (H) 29.2.2020 3pm KO

A much better first-half performance than we've become used to - it just goes to show what a difference it makes when the better players are available. Bryan in midfield gives us the kind of passing option in the middle of the pitch we haven't had since Bridcutt, although I want us to try and use hi...

Who I voted to keep: Matthews, Emmanuel, Bryan, Fleming, Bunney, Lowe, Hamilton, Mellis (court case permitting), Crawford, Darcy, O'Grady, Daryl Murphy

Who I expect we'll keep: Matthews, Hobbs, Bunney, Lowe, Luke Murphy, Hamilton, Mellis (court case permitting), Dodoo, O'Grady
