Re: Trotting over the Yellowbellies to three points - Lincoln City (A) 14/01/20

You were there and I wasn't, but "destroy" seems a touch Darth Vader for what seems a welcome but somewhat fortuitous victory. Stats aren't everything, but the shot count was 13-12 to them, possession was 48%-52% (that again!), passes 362v388, corners 5v4. Again, I would love to see more of those w...

Re: Onwards and Downwards: 2020 transfer speculation thread.

Here's a summat. This transfer embargo, I was chatting with Our Kid about it last night. I thought that we were still under it because it was imposed on us by the EFL for a specific period of time (this season for instance), however, he claims that we're still under it because all the creditors hav...

Re: Onwards and Downwards: 2020 transfer speculation thread.

He might genuinely be thought of as an improvement, but on the face of it, I'd probably take him replacing Chicksen as confirmation we've accepted relegation and are now engaging on a cost-cutting / money saving excercise. I wouldn't have a problem with that so long as we're (relatively) competitiv...

Re: Trotting over the Yellowbellies to three points - Lincoln City (A) 14/01/20

New scout bloke seems to have upset apple cart. I think this lies at the heart of it. Don't get me wrong, I've got little faith in Hill and I'm seeing the same things everyone else is. However, if he recognises and accepts this is a big rebuild yet finds himself being dictated to on transfer policy...

Re: Trotting over the Yellowbellies to three points - Lincoln City (A) 14/01/20

It doesn't excuse the result or the performance but we're frighteningly short of competence, never mind quality. I note there was a suggestion of "boardroom involvement" in our recruitment strategy today, and if that's correct, it wouldn't surprise me if Hill walked very soon. As much as I didn't ap...

Re: Onwards and Downwards: 2020 transfer speculation thread.

The Faal signing smells of that Recruitment guy we brought in towards the back end of last year - Someone who answers to the board and not the football manager. It could well be said, that Hill is not getting a say in recruitment, which will probably be a first for him in his career I've wondered i...

Re: Up Hill and down 'Dale - Rochdale (A), 3:00pm, 11/01/20

Another load of incoherent bollocks by Hill in his post match interview on GMR. I'm not going to give him grief for the footballing side as it stands, but good God he spouts some drivel and I've taken a very strong dislike to him. Yes, it wasn't good at all. Some of what he said might have been fai...

Re: Up Hill and down 'Dale - Rochdale (A), 3:00pm, 11/01/20

What did people expect? We have no midfield whilst Hamilton sounds like he had a good game we are so lacking in that area it’s not funny. In fairness we are a senior centre half short too. This. I have major reservations about Hill but the basic fact is that today Rochdale had the better starting e...

At the risk of jinxing it, it sounds like we're well in this.

Re: Onwards and Downwards: 2020 transfer speculation thread.

So we're going to ask Chicksen to play today despite the fact he's seemingly not getting offered a new contract? Bizarre. It's quite possible we're waiting to see what other opportunities present themselves in the rest of the transfer window before we make a decision on re-signing him. It's also qu...

Re: Onwards and Downwards: 2020 transfer speculation thread.

Paul Lambert on Toto: “I think he needs game time. He’s not high in confidence at the minute. He gives you everything but he’s just having a bit of a hard time.” One of those who needs a cuddle. That's the market we're in. Without a doubt, but thus far Hill doesn't seem very keen on cuddling or put...

Best guess:

Matthews; Emmanuel, Edwards, Nsiala, Chicksen; Hamilton, Weir, Darcy; Dodoo, Murphy, O'Grady

I was originally going to this but cant make it now. It's the only time this season I've felt absolutely sure we're getting nothing. 0-3 defeat

You must be an optimist!
