Re: Should I(E) stay or should I(E) go?
Ian has been very clear that he views this club as a vehicle for his inevitable rise to the Premier League. We are very fortunate to get to rid his coattails as Jesus guides him on. If he views this as no longer where the lord intends for him to attain greatness, he may move on. When prophecy fails...

Re: Should I(E) stay or should I(E) go?
If you were Evatt, why would you leave unless you have received a great offer elsewhere? Me personally? If I felt I couldn't do the job to my best level I'd resign, yes. Mileage varies, though, and I agree with your point. I think the worst thing for the football club is a half-arsed, sulking Evatt...

If we went back-4 and signed Ashworth, are people then happy with that one?
I think I would be, yes.

Re: Tooling up: The summer 2024 transfer thread
I like what I've seen of Ashworth, but he'd presumably need to be given a reason as to why it makes sense for him to sign permanently given he's so regularly been left out.

Well, I know for a fact Moulden's trained with us previously.
Nixon's now also reporting Evatt wants to sign Ashworth permanently.

Re: Should I(E) stay or should I(E) go?
I didn't like Sharon (to my eye) playing the gallery for a peerage in the commons the other day. Ditto. I was surprised she was there at all and was surprised again that she wasn't more measured in her comments. You don’t get peerages for select committee appearances so I think that’s wide of the m...

Re: Rising in Wembley's Glow: A Bolton Wanderers Tale - Bolton vs Oxford. 18th May 2024, 4.15pm
Days after being beaten (again) in a local derby and the day before a crucial fixture against a then promotion rival: "I've haven't enjoyed this week... it's taken an awful lot out of me" and "I'll reset in the summer and think about what happens in the future". A sure fire way to rally the troops....

Re: Rising in Wembley's Glow: A Bolton Wanderers Tale - Bolton vs Oxford. 18th May 2024, 4.15pm
He had a wobble, in February when he was on about "the world's against me." If he's that fcuking soft, then it's pretty obvious why the team is. Stats <> Bollocks. Days after being beaten (again) in a local derby and the day before a crucial fixture against a then promotion rival: "I've haven't enj...

I think we'd been poor before Hird's departure, hadn't we?
And in any event, our most glaring failure have been occurring since before this season.

Also concerning, is that in his post-match press conference yesterday, he claimed our performance was "unrecognisable" and he couldn't understand why it went wrong.

Re: Should I(E) stay or should I(E) go?
Did we keep the receipt? This is a big thing for me: his behaviour in the press and his general character. He seems to have a great deal of self-regard but is also very sensitive to criticism and, in my view, fragile under pressure. Too often he stokes animosity only to end up on the wrong side of ...

Re: Rising in Wembley's Glow: A Bolton Wanderers Tale - Bolton vs Oxford. 18th May 2024, 4.15pm
I'm not buying the Oxford shut down our midfield angle at all, I saw Thomason, Sheehan, Maghoma, even Ogbeta in plenty of space asking for the ball but it never came. The defense wouldn't take the risk of passing them the ball, so it just went back and forth then hoofed to no-one when it got too em...

Our problem has been obvious now for a very long time - we have a Plan A and once Plan A is countered it's Goodnight Vienna.
I think he'll be given another year but I'd really prefer it if we shook hands now and brought someone else in.
