Hutchinson and the two CBs either side of Santos, Hogan and O'Toole, have been superb. The first teamers have been poor (bar maybe Dempsey) - Etete and Santos get a pass as they're coming back from injuries but Jones, Matete, CMG and Lolos should be doing much better.

Yeah you need players like JDC in a squad - fit, reliable, good character, hard working. Yes, always very sobering to see where these youngsters end up. The harsh reality is that the vast majority of them aren’t good enough to play professionally. If your academy produces one or two first team players/ones to sell to teams higher up the pyramid every few years you’re doing well.
